Poll: Which Age of Empires do you like the most and why?

AoE 1 - That was an epic game for its time. Your humble narrator spent many an hour playing it.
AoE 2 - Also epic, but for me it didn't have the charm which AoE 1 brought to the table.
AoM - Fun game, but I didn't like it as much as the first two, I liked stone-age times.
AoE 3 - Also fun, but by this point 'the charm' has been totally lost.

That's pretty much my views on the series.

AoE 1, largely cause I lent AoE 2 to a friend at school when it came out and didn't see it again. The git lent it to someone else who I didn't know... I mean who does that, lends someone elses property out? Thus, never really played it and I simply didn't buy the other ones as there were other similar RTS games out at around the same time that looked more appealing.

Age2 conquerors expansion. 5 v 3 hardest over LAN was the best

Age 3 was fun at times as well but artillery was too much of a game changer

2 essentially made me the gamer I am. For that, it gets my vote.

All of them are good, although AoM also stands out for being excellent in general, and having the biggest campaign EVER. Although I wasn't keen on non human units.

AoE1 will always have a special place in my heart, being one of the first PC games I ever played. However, AoE2 is hands down the most enjoyable for me. Been playing it a fair bit lately with my bro and some mates, we all usually gather round our house and play on any PC or laptop we can lay our hands on. We've really gotten into it now; we talk tactics, best civilizations, best ways to start a game and build up etc. We end up playing well into the early hours of the morning most times. Just a great game, and does nothing but improve on the original.

I got hooked on all of them, but quite frankly I found AOE 3 to be to most addicting, now I'm going to go install the first two since I've been meaning to do so for awhile now.

I'm going to have to go back to AoE2 for mostly nostalgic reasons. I liked the improvements that AoE3 gave, but not the advancement in age. They should have kept it medieval.

Hard choice between AOE and AOM, but for the anubis units, AOM.
