Hearing. It's the only thing I could lose that wouldn't make life unbearable. It would suck, it would suck really bad, but a) I need sight to draw and without it I couldn't continue doing architecture, b) I need touch for pretty much the same reasons, being able to hold pens and stuff without breaking them and also the idea of never being able to feel any stimuli feels really depressing, and c) without smell and taste, everything I ever eat will pretty much taste like ashes, and eating ashes for the next 50 years would suck.
Never being able to go to a concert or listen to music would be a huge loss, but it's probably the only option that wouldn't make me want to jump off a building.

The fact that so many people would actually rather loose their smell than their taste is weird to me. Given the fact that when you eat, 90% of what you "taste" is actually aromas that you smell. You can only taste salt, sweet, sour, bitter and umami.
I've never seen a poll option omitted due to receiving NO votes before. But its unsurprising; no one would ever wanna lose their eye-sight.
I would loose taste. We got every few taste senses (or what ever they are called). Most taste comes actually from the smell.

I'd rather lose my hearing than anything else. Loss of sight would be horrible ... and unless you want to stare at your feet and hands losing your sense of touch (I'm guessing you're talking about paraplegia and quadriplegia, in which I would rather lose my sight, much less my hearing). But assuming it was just touch rather than partial/complete limb motor skills I'd still rather be deaf.
Taste. I could always sniff, touch and observe the food if it's bad or not, no?

Let's see: By loosing your sense of smell, your sense of taste would also go down, since a lot of the taste comes from the smell, and losing your sense of touch, would mean that you couldn't hold anything, because you would either destroy it or be unable to hold it. Loosing my hearing or sight, isn't very appealing so heck, I choose taste...
I don't understand why you'd want to get rid of smell over taste. It's much more valuable in so many more situations.
smell. I don't care for it that much, and I am down with a cold for about 2 months now, so I can't really smell anyway.

I wouldn't be a very good teacher with no sight or hearing, as awesome as it would be to be a blind philosopher. Also I love food and touch sensations too much to want to give those up. My smell is already shitty, and if I didn't have to give up taste, I'm all for throwing that away, even though I have some fond memories attached to smells.

A very long time ago I dated a girl who was deaf without her hearing aid. She told me "It's nice, because whenever I want to ignore someone I just turn it off, then nod when their lips stop moving. Most of the time they don't even know I'm not paying attention."
Considering I tend to have this attitude toward the entire world, silence may indeed be golden. I know for sure that I'd sooner shut out verbal communication than do without one of the few legitimate, genuine pleasures in my life---the smell and taste of great food or a girl.

Well, I voted taste.
Simply because most of what we "taste" is actually "smell".
And we're not in danger of poisinous plants as much as 500.000 years ago.
