Who would win in a straight up fight of skill. Such as only using hidden blades or such. Of course Ezio wins if he gets a gun, but not including that who would win, say, a sword-fight or fisticuffs or another straight up match?

I say Ezio just because I think he has more experience. While Altaier had the whole "trained since birth" thing going for him, Ezio learned it all on his own and can still kick face in what are now his late 40s I imagine. So there.

I gotta give it to Altair. It just seems like in the two games Ezio has been in so far, he's slowly gotten smarter, then been whacked on the head and made retarded again. It really shits me.
Well Ezio has a gun... and poison... and a crossbow... and dual hidden blades... and he can actually DEFEND himself with his hidden blades... and he came a few hundred years later, so his swords and armor would be of better quality soooooo... yeah, Ezio....
I would say Altair since he's the original master assassin, but after seeing the latest Assassin's Creed trailer, I'm gonna say Ezio. That dude has some awesome ass kicking skills!

We only really got to know Altair in the beginning of his career and it's suggested, and possibly revealed in the next Assassin's Creed, that following the events of this game Altair become a real master. I think it'd be a pretty even fight but of course Ezio does have a gun.
Well, Ezio has been using a gun and has therefore been using less melee weapons.
So Altair would probably win.

It's hard to say. Being as Ezio was the main character in the sequels to Altair's game, it's possible that all of his added abilities were a result of improved gameplay rather than the writers trying to convey that Ezio was a better assassin. That said, judging by demeanor, I'm going to say Altair. Ezio is a lot more human. Altair's way more ruthless.
