Which Call of Duty game has the best multiplayer. Note multiplayer, I don't care about Modern Warfare 1's campaign. Multiplayer can be online or offline, zombies or survival or co-op campaign, just not regular campaign.

While there are some differences, I was under the impression that they were all pretty much the same...
Personally, I had the most fun with Modern Warfare 2 and zombies from Black Ops.
And of course all of the offline matches I played with friends.

the first modern warfare, caused the least amount of rage with the least amount of OP one man team horseshit. was much easier to counter crap over powered stuff.
CoD 4 without a doubt.
Competitive play was just as viable as just playing normally - which hasn't really been possible since then.

Personally I love WaW because there were just so many things i love about that game and the multiplayer is one of the best parts. Also the only one that i have all the map packs for. Though there are some hackers in multiplayer when you play now-a-days they still cant take the fun out of the game. Anybody else agree with me?

I should clarify that I haven't played the other CoD games (*Gasp!* What sacrilege) and from what I've heard they were different with no or extremely limited customization which in my opinion is why I prefer (redundancy) CoD over Halo.
Statistics will also show that way more people have played the games I listed as opposed to 1 and 2, and UO and 3 which you didn't list.
Lastly, the whole multiplayer Halo vs CoD was started after the release of MW and CoD was more known for it's campaigns before that. I have been around for long enough to see this with my own eyes and I assure I'm no "Punk kid!"

There were vechicles which added some awesome scenes and scenarios. Not seen in COD multiplayer since.
It felt like a actual warzone.
I loved the fixed killstreaks because they were not overpowered or unnecessary. While specialist and support is cool and all, I like WaW because:

And that is what I think multiplayer should be like. Simplistic. It does not need sooo much effort to be more detailed than the campaign with more work into it. It should be a side-option for the game not an entire game, while understandable that some people may buy a game just for its multiplayer. Overall I just enjoyed it more.
More people have played the Modern Warfare games, therefore the original 3 were inferior. Because they didn't have customization and weren't redundant, and because I shun them they are immediately discounted from "which Call of Duty had the best multiplayer" list because obviously anything I don't like doesn't exist.Whoatemysupper said:

Our of the lineup presented, id say Black Ops.
It was so close to perfection i cant help but beg for BO2. The maps were above average, the guns were almost perfectly balanced ((except for the Famas and 74U, but they did end up getting patched)). The killstreaks were good, if a little low, and the damage values were spot on. You died in the perfect amount of time. Not to fast like MW3, and not to slow like BF3. It was right in the middle.
If they had just had movement as clean and fluid as the Modern Warfare series, it would be my favorite CoD to date.
But, my real favorite CoD is 2. Thats right. Kar98 ((scopeless)) is my gun for life. Im sure ive gotten more kills with that then all other weapons in any CoD game put together. If i had the money, id pay the to put it in BO2, as a weapon only i can use. So when i really want to have a good time, i can bust out my favorite weapon of all time and lay the SMACK DOWN on someone.

I prefer we just ignore Black Ops. Terrible hit detection, by far the worst maps in the series to date, poor weapon balance before the 19 patches they did (at least they patched it I guess)... It was just a terrible game. No offense if you enjoyed it, but every moment I played it I felt like stabbing myself in the eyeballs with a spork.

The only weapons that were OP were the AK74u with rapid fire, and the famas, and the AK74u got nerfed and actually became balanced.
The only real annoyance in the game was the RC-car, and while it was completely over-spammed flak jacket was a really good counter.
