It's a cannon looking for fodder with a piece of cannon fodder in it. Besides, it's not even a cannon at all. He's clearly going to be using his sword against the enemy rather than the tanks weaponry as he's a real man.

Well they're pretty much useless all the time. They need someone to go into bat for them every now and then.
