I'd have to say the Xbox's RRoD is worse than Sony's current issue. Nothing serious was stolen from Sony other than credit card numbers, but nobody is sure if they've actually been taken and the security numbers are definitely safe. 20 days of no online is better than having consoles become giant paperweights in my opinion.

...You do realize that the PS3 has a problem similar to the RROD, it just doesn't occur as much, right?

And the 360 slims don't red ring nearly as much as they used to.

They both have problems. Which is worse? Currently...Sony. In a few months, when this has all died down? Microsoft will still be left with most of it's issues.

Xbox shits all over free members and has RROD. (I can't even send messages now as a Free member.) Plus, it just freezes a lot in general. And it can only store a few game patches at once, meaning frequent patch downloads if you cycle between a lot of MP games, like me. For some fucked up reason. And if you are offline, a large number of the XBLA games won't work. While my offline PS3 can play all of it's downloaded titles just fine.

Sony has the Yellow Light of Death, far less prevalent, but still an issue. And this whole shitstorm going on now. And the forced installed for DOWNLOADED games, basically doubling the time to play content you DL. Installed a 6 GB game that you downloaded takes...basically a half hour.

RRoD is (functionally speaking) solved with the 360 SlimJim, they still have a failure rate, but it's more in line with other consoles as opposed to the Falcon model's 'somewhere above 50%' rate.

Now the PSN problem, whilst not a PS3 problem as such, is much larger. RRoD is a mechanical issue caused by poor design and poor quality components, the PSN hack is mass identity theft. That's a big deal.

I'd say the Wii has the most problems.

Sony shouldnt have a problem if people werent lazy. Microsoft rectifies theres. but the wii just can never seem to get anything right.

The Xbox will break on you.
The PS3 is reliable but breaks pre-launch promises.
The Wii has a bad good game:bad game ratio.

Its subjective.

I seem to run into problems with my PSP the most often. Insufficient space in the memory cards, going online just being a pain in the ass, generally shitty game library even six years after launch, the case not closing properly, making me hold it down with all my might while I play a game.

Then again, the DS is one fragile little *****. Hands up if the hinges on yours have broken?

Yeah, I don't have much to contribute to the WiiS360 debate.

The PSP lineup isn't that bad. You have Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Monster Hunter, Metal Gear, Gran Turismo, 2 God of Wars, 2 Battlefronts, and...shut up.

I have the original blue DS and its running fine =D

360 DEFINITELY has worse problems. RRoD, obviously, but just imagine if the Microsoft servers got hacked. How much worse would it be than Sony's? Especially since millions and millions of users PAY monthly. I'd much rather just play offline than buy a new console.

It's not "Silver" anymore. It's "free member".

Give Microsoft money on the store, is all we can do. And you can't even take advantage of the weekly sales. Those are "gold exclusive".

At least Sony has weekly REGULAR sales, for all members. Meaning that Playstation Plus members aren't the only ones saving money.

In terms of systems breaking, current gen... the only one that broke without some sort of outside terror was my Nintendo DS. The Touch Screen just stopped working during the final battle in Bowser's Inside Story!

Every console has their problems.
The 360 has RRoD, the console can get damaged easily and you have to pay to use online capabilities but has a good variety of cames.
The PS3 has the current PSN problem, the equivalent of an RRoD but also a pretty good selection of games and free online.
The Wii has terrible games, not great for online and is gimmicky but is great for exercise and families.
I guess it comes down to preference in the end.

Holy crap, I am actually so glad I switched I was never that big a fan of the xbox anyway, now...I actually don't see the point in having one.

I'd say that all of the consoles have their problems. Xbox has the RRoD, like you said, Sony has this (along with almost no 1st party games), and nintendo doesn't have that many good 3rd party games.

Regardless of what the PS3 owners have recently gone through, the Xbox 360 is still worse. Games become literally unplayable if the DLC for them is downloaded and the console is offline (same goes for XBLA games), and any console older than the latest one that is released is at high risk of bricking. Then Microsoft tortures those without Gold membership, as the only thing one can do is give them money.

These are primarily the reasons why I stopped using my 360.

Well... with a few simple mods, the PS3 limits its problems strictly to this current PSN garbage. The YLOD is completely preventable. Other than its reliance on PSN, the PS3 is a decent, easy-to-use media center with halfway decent hardware powering it. The 360 is... designed on the cheap. The Wii... well, it's not really a fair comparison there. Apples and oranges.
As gaming machines... well, I'm more than a little biased against current-generation console controls... I actually prefer my PS1 emulator to my PS3.

I had a YLOD on my PS3 after 2 years.

But PSN is free to play online, unlike XBL...

Also, bigger problems...
