Poll: Which console will have better exclusive games in 2011: PS3 or 360?

Anyway, on a more serious note, the PS3 has a more solidly filled out exclusive release schedule. Plus it has inFAMOUS 2, and I inFAMOUS is pretty much eating my life away its sandbox open world style and my chances to pretty much torture or save the people in the city and its possibilities.

The PS3 has Little Big Planet 2, a game that is by itself enough to get people buying a PS3 and nothing else.

Meh. LBP 1 was so-so on the plattforming mechanics, and most user maps/game mods either suck or are basically the same.

I really enjoyed LBP1 but I'll agree that the mechanics are all basically the same, that's why I spent more time creating than playing other levels. Their were some really annoyingly clever levels propping up more than a year after release though, they were just few and far between.

In LBP2 that's much less the case, In the first week of the beta I had my mind blown with levels better and more original than anything LBP1 farted out in a year, who knows what people will be making a year after release.

Come on people, it's 2011, can we just get over the whole 'my console is better than your console' bullshit? Sony's really the only one hopping on the exclusivity bandwagon anymore. Most 360 titles have been available on PC anyhow and any multi-plats still sell better on 360 regardless.

But, in addition to GoW 3, I'd like to add that MS is bringing out Kingdoms, Forza: Kinect and Perfect Dark 2.... to say the least...

My major buy this year will be infamous 2. I am interested in Uncharted 3, but Unchated 2 was so perfect that I worry they won't be able to improve, making changes that effect the game for the worse. And if they don't change much, than it will be uncharted 2 with a desert skin.


Now Infamous 2...first game to take place in new orle-*cough* "New Marais". Electric dude with a saxophone...my kind of superhero. For some reason Louisiana seems like the perfect place for an electric crime fighter/bringer of doom.


I don't understand whats so great about gears. I haven't played it, but it seems to be all about big sports jocks with massive over sized guns (with chainsaws on the bottoms), more grey and brown than a dirty sidewalk, and ridiculously overdone testosterone and gruffness. Oh yeah, there's a white guy wearing what I think is a dewrag. In short, it's kind of ridiculous, and it seems like it's advertised to highly unintelligent people. Yahtzee agrees with me, so there.

BTW I'm not saying the game is played by idiots, it just seems like it is geared (see what I did there?) towards idiots.

That is a bold prediction to make considering we don't know much of what will be using it in the coming year and whether or not any developer will be able to make true gaming experiences that move beyond the kinect's current offerings.

I wasn't aware of any exclusives on the 360. The 360 isn't really the go-to console for exclusives. That's more of a Sony thing, and as such, they tend to have the exclusives.

Microsoft has Gears of War though, off the top of my head, that's all I can think of. Hence, Microsoft's market-awareness for exclusives isn't very strong. They're into the "exclusive-DLC" thing. Which is a heinous offense.

If multiplayer is a make-or-break priority when selecting games, then Wii probably isn't for you. That isn't the case for the vast majority of people who play video games.

Huh, I really wouldn't say "vast" majority, with games like Call of Duty gaining more and more mainstream popularity. And, depending on your definition of "multiplayer", World of Warcraft's over 12 million subscribers beg to differ. And hell, if you consider all those book-face games to be "online games" then that gap is looking pretty slim.

OT: Eh, 360 and PC gamer that I am, I must admit PS3's lineup is a better, though just about all of the games I give a damn about are multi-plat, so either way I'm still pretty pleased.

Sidenote- Okay, wtf is with these captcha things. I'm fine with having to decipher the funny looking words, but when it's giving me weird puzzles like "Fill in the blank: Toyota____" I start to draw the line.

So... WoW players, fb players, and everyone who plays CoD refuse to play single player games that don't have a multiplayer component? News to me.

While I agree with you on general principle (console wars are stupid), I have to disagree that all multiplatform titles are better on the 360. Most are, but there are some pretty glaring exceptions. Darksiders and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow come to mind as titles that had big problems on the 360 that just didn't exist on the PS3. Also, Valve has all but outright stated that Portal 2 is going to be better on the PS3 than the 360, and I imagine that might be a big multiplatform title this year.

Well there are probably a few more PS3 games I'm looking forward to this year, though it doesn't really matter, as the only game I would possibly kill to get my hands on is TES V:Skyrim, and that's mulitplatform.

Well, the Xbox 360 has a much better motion control system, i.e. Kinect, than the PS3. The technological potential is much better for Kinect than for PS3 Move. And then there's Gears 3 due out this year. And we're almost certainly guaranteed another Halo game sooner or later from 343 Industries. So for those three reasons, I'd say the Xbox 360 will probably be winning the exclusivity war this year.

It's silly though, because exclusive gaming is the single worst thing to happen to the industry since the rise of people like Jack Thompson. It does absolutely no good and just causes problems between gamers, and limits the amount of buyers for each game (because why should we gamers be expected to pay through the odds for every single console when there may only be a few games per system that we're even interested in?). If I had my way, all games would be released for all systems, and exclusivity wouldn't exist in the industry.
