Most modern popular music and popular music of the past (yes sorry rock and metal is considered pop music) has it's roots in american black people's music. So I vote America. I assume America includes Canada since it's not listed and by extension 'Rush' as well.

I'm British, but all my fave music is American, so it's a no brainer for me.

Its the same for me - most modern punk/punk rock is American by default so I had to vote for America.

I'm going to go ahead and say what I always say when people ask "what's your favorite such-and-such" about music: I like good music. And I don't mean what you think is good music, or what is popular, or anything like that. I listen to what I think is good music. I don't care where it came from, or who made it, or what genre it is, if it's good, I listen to it. I don't know where half the songs I listen to come from, in terms of country, I just know I like them. And really, that's all that matters.

This. I selected America because you can't get good Gangsta Rap like Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in other countries... At least, I haven't heard any, and even then, THEY CREATED IT, so it is their influence in those other places...

So its basically a 50 - 50 split between UK and USA but for some reason i love French rap. There's something about the French language that makes rap sound really good. I hate rap otherwise but put it in French and i love it.
