I'm pretty sure alien life exists, just due to the sheer vastness of the universe - there's got to be at least trillions of planets with "the right stuff" for life. So even if life is incredibly rare in the universe, there's likely millions of planets with life.

But then again..... compare those millions of planets with life, to the HUNDREDS OF GAJILLIONS OF PLANETS WITHOUT life, separated by huge, incredible, mind-blowingly large distances, so large it takes LIGHT itself millions to billions of years to travel.

The odds of intelligent life coming into contact with each other? Near zero. So goddamn close to zero. I'd bet my life there's intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. I'd also bet my life that we are almost certainly never going to see it.

That's what I believe in. The rest I don't. I'm a scientist. Just finished half my Master of Molecular Biology Degree!

Of anything on that list, aliens. But I don't believe in the bullshit aliens that come down to earth and abduct humans for research or whatever.

I just believe that aliens exist somewhere. There has to be some other form of intelligent life somewhere in the universe, but, I don't believe aliens come here to Earth.

Hey I did a thread like this, STOLE MAH THREAD!! No I'm just kiddding mine was titled "Which paranormal phonomenon is most plausible" and I can see why a lot of people didn't click on it so its good to see the idea with more attention and a greater response

OT: I don't know I am a big paranormal buff though aliens, cryptids, ghosts you name it, I'm not sure if any of it exists but it sure makes entertaining reading.

You ever stop and wonder why if people can believe that long ago there was a guy who could duplicate bread, and turn water to wine and who died and came back to life, and that humanity started off as two naked people who were tempted by a talking snake, that a guy managed to split an ocean and turn water to blood and control plagues but they can't beleive that we're being visited by aliens, or not all animals have been discovered yet, or that some dead people may still dwell on Earth. Kind of silly when you think about it.

If the universe is infinitely infinite, and planets have a chance of fostering life, then there are probably aliens.

I think it means the UFO disk-using, antennae green people. That I don't believe in, but extra-terrestrial life is pretty likely, perhaps in this galaxy.

Aliens in the sense that there's bound to be some form of living creature out in the universe somewhere, even if it's just some bacteria or something. Not necessarily the aliens that will come to earth and kill us all.

Technically it is infinite, we have no way to know, we can only see a limited distance.

Well some of it is belief in the supernatural, which is absurd. Some of it is theoretical (matrix world) and we cannot prove either way. Some of it is lack of trust in the government, which is understandable considering what they are like...

And then their is a constant. There ARE 'aliens' - as in life on other planets. Just don't expect it to be intelligent.
