Poll: Which do you think is a better series Halo or Gears of War?

Halo. Mainly because it's very original. Seriously, the only thing more original than halo was doom.

Gears of war, personally. I enjoy third-person more, and back in my Gears of war 1 days...I was such a badass.

As of this generation of consoles I'd say Gears O War by quite a bit; it's just a lot more fun and it plays tighter. As a whole however, the majesty of Halo: CE just pulls the franchise in front of Gears IMO.

It's going to be interesting as both Halo: Reach and Gears 3 look like absolute ball busters!

My choice: Halo series.

I prefer Halo because despite all its lesser points, it's still one of the greatest series' for shooting the face off your friend's character.

Why isn't there a "none of the above" option? I'd totally pick that. I can't say either are truly BAD (I've played my share of bad games. Halo and Gears don't qualify), but neither are that great. Frankly, I find their popularity anomalous, but it may be due to the simplicity of controls and story, something I can't personally appreciate.
