I personally prefer Matt Smith, he just seems more eccentric and quirky.

I like my Doctors to be suitably alien, so Smith here.
Though Eccleston was the best of NuWho. A good sense of other-worldlyness, yet at points clearly affected by the humans he has travelled with.

Enough with the who is better. THEY ARE BOTH DIFFERENT and brought their own brilliant doctors to the show. It's like comparing bread with milk. They are different, not to be compared.
I'm torn, honestly. Tennant was amazing, but Smith is a lot crazier and impulsive. For now, it's Smith, but that could change at any time.
Smith and here's why.
Tennant's character had this over-excited persona that let rip when the plot (and it's alien plot maguffin device) was finally discovered in a horribly fast burst of techno babble.
I never mind overly complicated plots but having the character spew it all out in an excitable burst ruins it completely.
Smith just seems friendlier, more likeable and although he can get a little excitable (lets face it, most of the doctors did) he doesn't let his burst of enthusiasm go overboard in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment

Out of these two I have to chose Tennant. He has some great lines and even greater episodes (remember The Impossible Planet/Satan Pit?).
Plus I haven't seen Smith yet. And I don't need to, I just got used to Tennant.

I think it should be noted that a lot of the people voting Tennant haven't actually seen Smith. Seems completely ridiculous to vote in a poll when you havn't experienced both sides.
