Why do I have to pick? I love them both equally because they're both amazing, cute, and amusing in their own ways. David or Matt, it's still the same lovable, heroic character, so it doesn't matter who plays him as long as they're good at it (which they both are.)
I just wanna say though, I love Amy. She's such a babe.

Ecclestone.
But out of those 2 I have to go with Tennant. I just don't like Smith's companions. And not a huge fan of Song either. Smith has some good one liners and is a decent doctor alone, but I just can't stand the companions and the meh episodes.

I'm only now starting to watch season 3, and have loved both Eccleston and Tennant.

I think the switch in actors at the end of season 1, although it was done because Eccleston didn't want to do the role anymore, served as an extremely important plot point for the Doctor/Rose story, by the way. And then seeing the Doctor in tears at the end of season 2 was so damn touching.

I like to think that they were both good and both brought something to the table that was unique. I think if I had to choose I would say Smitth just for the sheer awesome amount of random that comes from his mouth.

Fez's are cool.

Matt Smith is doing pretty well, but David Tennant was fucking awesome. I doubt anyone will ever top him.

Enough with the who is better. THEY ARE BOTH DIFFERENT and brought their own brilliant doctors to the show. It's like comparing bread with milk. They are different, not to be compared.
Its an excellent point to make, both a fantastic in their role as the doctor. It also help that they wrote Gillian's part in such a way that she complements Smith's take on the character. Then there's Rory, our voice of timid reason. (well cept when he gave the doctor a good punch to the face)

To be honest though, Tennant was my first doctor so I'll always favor him over others. Matt Smith is doing a damn fine job and has (dare I say it) made the doctor even more enjoyable than when Tennant played him. He keeps things light and quirky when their needed but can still capture that spine tingling seriousness when its needed.

To me, it seems the Doctors keep getting better and better. I first saw Eccleston and thought he did a great job, then Tennant came and I liked him even better. Now it's Smith, and I like him a little more than Tennant. I was a bit disappointed with the way they wrote this season, but he still did a good job.

Yes same here. But to say more enjoyable, i dunno it's like it's a new personality that is enjoyable but it's not to demote 10ant. He'll always be my preferred doctor :)

I feel that although Tennant really made the role his own; a big departure from Eccleston's more down to earth doctor, Matt Smith had simply made his doctor a little, just a little, more alien than Tennant, and besides that isn't particularly different from Tennant.

Despite this, I really like Smith as the doctor, as the stranger he is, the more interesting eh is, and therefore the better, or at least the stranger, his interactions with others will be.

As episodes go, however, Tennant takes the cake; the original Weeping Angels and the Beast in the hole story arc, among others (none of them being the cybermen), are fucking awesome, whereas Smith's series has been kind of "meh"; all that has happened is that the Daleks decided to turn into skittles and the assistant is sexeh :p

I'd also like to point out that I am extremely disappointed that Rory is dead!

The Tenth was 'my' Doctor, the incarnation that brought me into the series. Smith is alright, but in my eyes nobody will ever top Tennant. Ever.

Neather i prefered Eccleston cos he seemed more angry and dark(I'm not a Emo)

I must amit Smith has grown on me, he seems more fun and happy while Tennant seemed more loony

All the Doctors have been good.

I much prefer Matt Smith to Tennant. Tennant was far too melodramatic for my liking, I mean all this falling in love with Rose nonsense was just... ughh. Don't even get me started on how much I hate Rose. I still think Tennant is probably the most overrated Doctor in the history of the show.

Smith's brilliance made me forget about David Tennant. I even thought I preferred Smith, at least until I went back and watched Tennant again. Tennant is definetly still the best Doctor, but Smith is not very far behind...
