Isabella. I fucking hate Morrigan because she's a total *****. Merril was cute, but that doesn't really make a relationship worth it.

Isabella is hot as hell and her personality totally meshes with mine.

It's funny just how screwed over straight girls and gay guys were with the male romance options. Alistair was the only male companion (excluding Shale, of course) that didn't piss me right the hell off.

Alistair. I'm a straight male that never romanced him, but I watched my GF do it. Man, that is a romantic storyline and his character is written and voice-acted so well. Check out some of his (and others from DA:O quotes here: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Heartwarming/DragonAge.

For me I'd say Leliana, solely because you can have her tell you stories over the campfire and just relax and fall in virtual love.

I found Morrigan to be so pathetic all I could do was pity her. To romance her is like romancing a thirteen year old girl. She has had no contact with the outside world and all you have to do is be nice to her, unlike the only other person she's known (Flemeth) to win her affections. Yeah she's quick witted and occasionally genuinely funny, but her vulnerability was a turn off. Leliana knew exactly what she was doing when she falls in love with you. I value competency in a woman.

I haven't finished the DA2 Isabela romance yet, so I can't say for sure what straight male LI I like the most. Merrill had a fascinating story and was a great character, but the romance stuff was so secondary I felt like it didn't even matter.

Man I have missed this ship, seen it go round the world twice and now I can see it leaving again I'm so late to post.

Not gonna lie, I found Merrill to be the most engaging love interest I've ever had in the game (the only ones I've used before have been to feed fish, or try to feed fish only to find out they won't).

Though I think this may be due to circumstances more than anything else. My Hawke (whom from this point forth will be called Matthew) went through the entire game with one thing on his mind, get his family safe and do what is best for them. Merrill is removed from her home and her family early one, so I figured Matthew would want to welcome her to his as much as possible. However the more it was played, the more her simple view of the world suited his idealism. Honestly I have never had it between 2 characters where I thought "Yes I can see these two together".

More than that, as the game went on, Matthew became increasingly isolated, losing all but his uncle. Merrill became his only family and seeing as I set out to keep his family safe and she was all that was really left and also as she was all she had left, I guess they got clingy for all eternity.

Alistair is my favourite, I'm replaying DA:O now and I just love that guy. But from what I remember from other romances options from DA:O I like all of them. I love all those characters.
DA2 I only played once, and romanced Isabella and Fenris and I think they were good? I don't really remember.

But Alistair is the one I go with, he's a super-sarcastic joker but he can get serious and I just love the stpryline and dialogue with him

Hard to dislike Merril, and Leliana grew on me by the end of her story.

I probably would have found Morrigan more interesting if I could have taken her anywhere without being reprimanded for not eating children.

Gah, Merrill. No, Leliana. But, Merrill does have those cute little elf ears. Then again, Leliana has red hair. But Merrill ends up all alone, but then again Leliana's been rather lonely...

Where are all these Dragon Age threads coming from? I've noticed a few of them pop up over the past month our so and I'm just wondering what's going on. Pre Dragon Age 3 preparation or something?

I like Morrigan best probably, then it's a tie between Zevran and Isebella. I hate most of the other ones; Leliana aggravates me, Merrill creeps me out, Sebastian is a cornball, Alistair is decent as a wingman, but annoys the heck out of me in a romance, Anders is OK only in that the potential tragedy of it appeals to me, and I plain old loathe Fenris.

If only we could romance Aveline :-(.

As a straight male, it's a little odd to put down Alistair, but his arc plays out well with the Warden. I'm also astonished by how many people voted Morrigan, in my opinion she's doesn't need a relationship because she can just go fuck herself.

I also love that you have the option to develop his character even further later in the story.

For Dragon Age 2, it's always Fenris.
Between the two, Fenris wins.

Actually Leliana's accent is real her voice actress Corinne Kempa is french.Anyway I love Leliana's romance the most considering she does'nt fall for you right away until you get to know each more and until you help her put a chapter of her life behind her.

I hate the game, but Morrigan's was just hilarious since her normal clothes were less revealing than the "sex scene" was.

I was actually upset to see the girls so high and then I remembered where I was.

Alistair, because he is the most appealing character in the entire series.
Second is Fenris, because he has a reason to be that broody, but he didn't make a building explode.
Then it's a tossup between Anders, Isabela, and Morrigan. Their romances weren't as much fun and I honestly liked Isabela better as a friend than as a romance.

Lelianna and Merrill were less fun than the rest of them.
