Poll: Which Fallout faction is best for humanity?

For me, I am split between 2 choices. As an American who fully supports his country, I find the NCR appealing because it's basically America restarting but from West to East this time. They have democracy, organization, drive, and yeah, some corruption. But it still seems to be the only group that not only is capable of reunifying the wasteland and rebuilding society, but also the one that most people actually like.

On the other hand, the societies from the Capital Wasteland is appealing too. Each city has its own government and they trade between each other but otherwise don't meddle in each others' affairs, so people don't really have to worry about Big Brother keeping them from being happy. The downside to this is that they have practically no way of defending themselves from a major threat (like the Enclave) and require outside help from, let's face it, VERY GENEROUS people to solve those issues (like the Lone Wanderer and the Capital Wasteland Brotherhood). Still, with the active trading and general support yet separation from each other, this system is more like half-colonialism and half-Confederacy.

And keep your comments about Fallout 3 to yourself, Fallout purists. This is not the topic for that.

When pushed... I'd say the NCR. They are the closest one to our current government of the bunch. But the Chaotic part of my Chaotic Good alignment calls out for anarchy and individual settlements. I am somewhat torn.

I never really had much respect for the NCR (they spread themselves too thin and almost got wrecked because of it)

I would not trust them to run society.

I like the Followers and think they would and should continue to help as many people as they can, but I don't think they have the means or the balls to enforce order. They're practically hippies with medical knowledge. Society can't be run by hippies, not just because hippies are useless to everyone but drug dealers, but also because it would get really boring really fast.

Anarchy is basically what there is currently everywhere those factions arent... i think that would work if people werent dicks.
Otherwise i'd say followers of the apocalypse are the best if they were given the resources.

But as for the main NV factions, i'd say House, sure he's as selfish and self serving as everyone else, but i still think his vision of the wasteland is the most beneficial to most people, at least compared with the other major factions

The NCR has the most staying power, but I just can't see them governing the entirety of the Mojave effectively.

Enclave. Everyone else seems like savages poking advanced tech with sticks.Tech would cover up an amazing amount of annoyance with other facets of their governance. Food,power,safety and medicine? Sign me up.

The Mojave Wasteland is best off cradled gently in the Power Fist of the Courier (should she/he claim that responsibility for him/herself) who has the able aid of the ever-so-amiable Yes Man and a implacable killer robot army.

If one wants something done right, one has to do it oneself. That includes guiding post-cataclysmic communities until their slice of Western civilization's restoration is complete.

The Brotherhood of Steel, although the NCR comes in a very close second.

The Enclave has already shown time and again that they only have interests in regaining what they lost in the 2077 nuclear disaster, with less regard for survivors of the wastes, so I wouldn't trust them.

The easy answer is PC as House, not true independence. Follower's would be very good for humanity, not that humanity will cooperate.


Of the others, NCR provides the best option for longterm stability.

NCR is corrupt and perfectly happy to bring in kids and send the off to die. They shout ideals and do the opposite. And they don't take no for an answer, you're either with them or against them. They're only 'good' on the surface.

NCR could run the country with the least amount of change needed, so they have my vote.

NCR all the way. A lot of the NCR npc's I met seem genuinely good and kind plus they're the only major faction that didn't require you to kill off the poor BoS sods to progress with them (well they ask you to but u can get around it ).
