Me, I'd join SMS. Not only do you get the latest and sweetest transforming plane mecha, there's a whole other army of redshirts to get blown up to make you look cool, and even if you do wreck your plane, you'll get another one.
Out of those? S.T.A.R.S on one condition. No Wesker.

Of the ones listed on the poll, it would probably be the Spartans from Halo, provided real life is not like Legendary difficulty, where you die after being shot twice. As long as it's closer to Normal or Heroic difficulty, I wouldn't be in a position to complain. Be known as a Demon among the Covenant, be able to use any weapon and drive any vehicle, be damn near unkillable: that sounds quite promising to me. Also, just to reference Doomsday Arcade: who in their right mind would join an organisation named F.E.A.R.?

and the expediontary forces do get annihilated.. especially in Robotech: Invasion at the start...
So I'd have to be one of the later ones that help's the resistance if I wanted a slight chance

Also, even they only get a 50/50 chance of survival even if they're a main character (Hikaru and Max survive, Roy and Kakizaki die, and I'm not even sure Max should count, because he's clearly broken)
Whereas SMS only has one redshirt, and he buys it in the first episode, and only lose two out of their seven face pilots, and one of them was just a backgrounder who hardly even spoke.
