I was playing Fire Emblem just recently and thought "which class would I like best to be?" The answer was swordmaster. Really large criticals, high evasion, high hit chance even against lance users. These are all good things.

Making a one-option poll is idiotic.

Add more options, please, because I would be an Archer. Rolf, towards the end of Radiant Dawn, is an unstoppable tank with the Double Bow, because he can hit anything within 3 spaces, and his evasion is so high that nothing can hit him.

Yeah, swordmasters are awesome, but the real reason to be them is because their crit animations are always the best.

Amelia in Sacred Stones became ridiculously awesome if you trained her up to a General. Sure, her defense wasn't as high as a few characters, but she could still take a hit like a champ, especially when her Great Shield ability kicked in and negated damage from said hits. Speaking of hits, despite being a general, she was able to pull off 2 attacks on pretty much everything she fought against. Also, I got it so she had the same movement as the best of my cavilers. She was most definitely my best character.

If I had to pick something to be it would definitely be her.

hero all the way
balanced stats all around with high skill and strength
and while not as fast as sword masters they aren't as slow as to be doubled

A Sage. Can attack from both near and far, high skill for accuracy, high speed for double attacking and dodging and the best bit? Those spells are too cool. Excalibur, Fimbulvetr, Bolting, Elfire and Lightning. Yeah.

No idea what Fire Emblem is but I would just say to be an assassin, why? Cause backstabbing people is cool.

Assassin.

Who needs defense when you can dodge and critical and silencer the shit out of everything? <.<

Fire Emblem? I'd rather be a pair of loaded dice, which is what you need to overcome that game's cheap-ass random-number generator.

General all the way (although I was tempted with sage for a sec) I managed to get Amelia to general and she ended up having 80% evasion to most attacks. That, combined with the weapon variety and defensive stats made me choose it...sweet armor too.

Also, I managed to abuse the random number generator in that game so I can get the items that boost movement by 2 when used every time I do the Lagdou Ruins....yeah...imagine 3 generals (Gilliam, Fado, and Amelia) with maxed out stats that can move 15 spaces....fun fun :D

Shamen have a truly badass aesthetic going on, and their spells have a lot of interesting quirks that go beyond "hit at x range, for y damage, with z accuracy".

Knights are a pretty close second, being juggernauts that some of the less beefy adversaries have literally no way to harm. Nothing in a Fire Emblem game has made me happier than seeing an enemy ninja land a showy-as-hell critical hit for 0 damage, followed by my walking tank stomping over and skewering him.

Oh, and you do realize that Myrmidon/Swordmaster and Mercenary/Hero are different classes, right?

I'm only allowed 8 choices for the poll. So I just generalized on the quick accurate swordsman choice.

I picked the hero class, because in the Fire Emblem : sacred stones in GBA, Gilliam is awesome.
And besides, they have defense of a general and the movement/critical hits and movement/attack range, plus they can equip an axe.

You do realize that Gilliam is a Knight, right? Like... unable to be a Hero class?

Anyway, I'd like to be a Sage. Incredible Dodge due to high Speed and Luck growths, and the ability to attack from afar using explosive lightning and tornadoes of flame Why WOULDN'T you want that?

Wyvern Rider, no weakness to arrows or wind magic, insane mobility, almost always attack twice and can use both spears and axes :)

assassin would be a close second only because they one kill EVERYTHING, and hitting them is near impossible in the FE universe
