Considering that allot of my family come from Italy, probably Italy.

Oh why isn't Germany up their?
My guess: Ran out of space in the poll slots. I want to visit Germany at some point myself. The country is quite breathtaking in the countrysides, and the folks who live there are quite nice. Plus, I'm teaching myself German, albeit at a very slow pace, and take some time to listen to German dubs of shows. It's tough to understand much of it without transcripts to fall back on, but it's fun either way.

You put Russia and not USA? :)
Well to me at least, the US is foreign and I'd like to visit someday, but Japan tops my list. I've already been to China, which would have been number 1 or 2.

Out of that list, Italy.

Although I kind of want to go to Ecuador, since my mom's from there, and I can speak the language.

Still, Italy's cool too.

Japan's nice, I suppose. It was okay to visit, but I'd rather be stuck in a shack than live there, sweet Jesus.

Out of the list? Italy.
Not on the list? North Korea. ...don't judge. Don't matter what you think of the place or its leader, it's probably one of the most fascinating countries in the world.

You forgot USA. Kind of a big one.

Out of that list? Japan. But not without learning the language.

Im sure Im the 20th+ Japan, but I genuinly really love the country and its culture. I certainly hope to atleast one day spend a year in Japan visiting places of historical interest and attending many of their festivals and shrines.

Czech Republic.

Its a hidden gem from all I've heard, and is home to some of history's most interesting cars and their designers. Lets put it this way, the Czech's managed to build Magnesium V8 engined, air cooled and rear engined - the entire engine cantilevered off the transaxel, streamlined Luxury cars from before the second world war right the way though communism and out the other side - just.

I would have to say Japan because I would like to visit some family over there again. This way I could also seriously practice my Japanese.

Next in line, I would choose UK and Italy, because those places are awesome.

India all the way. Possibly Pakistan as well. I think I'm just secretly in love with South Asia.

Also I invite all of you to Russia.
Nice!

I'm sort of interested in visiting Russia, but I know so little of the country I don't know where to begin. All I know is that I tend to find women with Russian accents sexy and I've heard there's a kind of Russian ice cream with butter in it. That may not be the solid foundation to base a vacation around.
I would say "talk to a Russian" but that didn't help me much. Seeing as I'm friends with probably the most stereotypical Russian ever. But if people go to Japan over liking Gundam, I'm sure you could slip by with those reasons.

Well out of those I would go for Japan been once before and loved it but I expect they are still having a hard time over there at the moment but if it was any country I would go for Antarctica next always wanted to visit there for some reason.
Can't really call Antarctica a country, the current generation of the treaty basically nullified all territorial claims so the entire place is essentially one big no mans land. Realistically whatever country you are from has control over you. I worked there over a summer, spent 6 weeks in McMurdo, about 2 months at Byrd camp, and 2 weeks at the south pole station. McMurdo is a bit scenic as its situated on the end of a mountain range and overlooks open water during part of the summer season. Once you get on the actual continent (McMurdo is actually on ross island.... not on the continent proper) and move inland a bit its flatter than a pancake, flatter than kansas, flatter than flat. And very white =). I don't even know how to express how desolate and empty the place is. What makes it really neat though is that you and 10-50 other individuals manage to survive in the middle of it. Deep field camp workers are the rarest bunch though, theres roughly 1k people working McMurdo and maybe 100 deep field camp staffers each year.

If you want to go, your best bet is to apply with Raytheon here: http://rpsc.raytheon.com/employment/

This is their last year on the contract, next year it'll be on to someone else. You should be able to figure out from the NSF website who the current contractor is and then locate their website to apply for jobs

The NSF contracts all the services on the continent, cooks, electricians, janitors, dishwashers, laborers, weather observers(my profession)... just about any job you can think of that needs done in a small town needs done at McMurdo. There is lots and lots of competition, and the pay is mediocre in most cases unless you have a special skill. But if you really want to just go, my suggestion is to pad the bejeezus out of a resume and apply every year.

The above only applies to Americans and New Zealanders, if you're from another country you'll have to figure out what their program is like or obtain the right to work in US or NZ. I'm always happy to answer questions about the place, shoot a pm.
