I would. Fuck a time travelling phone booth, I've got a time travelling DeLorean!

Seriously, one replicator and you could solve pretty much every problem currently plaguing us as a species.

To actually replicate something it needs a pattern to be programmed into it. It needs to know the exact elements it needs to convert the matter to and then how to arrange it. So if you're thinking about just replicating something that doesn't exist, well you're out of luck because even if you could somehow program the pattern into the replicator it wouldn't work or would be missing certain fictional elements. You could reverse engineer real things though.CrazyGirl17 said:Ooohhh... tough call, but I think I'll go with the Replicator(and if I can use it to make some of the other stuff, I'm going for a Sonic Screwdriver or a light saber)
Well, It comes with an instruction manualPopadoo said:I chose the Sonic Screwdriver. I was going to say TARDIS, but I have no clue how to fly it, and the screwdriver seems to have almost endless uses and is easy to carry around and conceal.
Except there's that part where you have to keep up maintenance because its a car, and not to mention the problems with it's actual time travel. You can only travel back and forward through time at your CURRENT position. Not only is that going to get boring eventually, but it gets hazardous. What if you time travel straight into a tree? Or what if you run someone over?TestECull said:Demongeneral109 said:Its a police box that holds a parallel dimensionTestECull said:Other --> The DeLorean DMC12 time machine. TARDIS/Doctor> Doc Brown/DeLorean
My time machine will do donuts. Yours cannot.
DeLorean > phone box.

Don't want or need a pool or library in it. Besides, it's a bloody car, I can sort of drive it to a fucking pool or library.
Police box does donuts in the sky; car stays on ground and can't be modified to prevent paradoxes,TestECull said:Demongeneral109 said:Its a police box that holds a parallel dimensionTestECull said:Other --> The DeLorean DMC12 time machine. Hate to break it to you, but the sonic screwdriver also makes a cool noise and can be modified to be a weapon... so better than lightsaber...no matter how much i love themAlcamonic said:A lightsaber sure sounds like a nice idea. As long as it makes the "woom" sound effect!
It would be like a pocket knife, but only better. Although cleaning a fish would probably cause most if not all the fish to vanish.
Who said anything about it being The Doctor's TARDIS? As long as it's Chameleon Circuit works a TARDIS can change its appearance to pretty much anything. The Doctor's TARDIS is a police box because its Chameleon Circuit is broken.TestECull said:I would. Fuck a time travelling phone booth, I've got a time travelling DeLorean!
Didn't have enough space, that's why there's an "other" choice.Vigormortis said:Uh...the T.A.R.D.I.S. of course.
Firstly, because it's a TIME MACHINE.
Secondly, because with it I could likely make most of the other gadgets in the poll. Most notably, the sonic screwdriver.
So..yeah. Tardis, without hesitation.
[edit]
Out of curiosity, where's the ubiquitous gravity gun, portal gun, and other game-related tools? Just wondering.

If I remember correctly a replicator turns energy into matter so you need enough energy to actually make something, calculate the mass of what you want to make and use E = mc^2 and the price of power in your area to calculate your next electric bill. It will probably be far cheaper to just go and by the stuff you want. Also you probably could not get enough power to make anything very large.Azure-Supernova said:To actually replicate something it needs a pattern to be programmed into it. You'd have to wonder though, something that breaks down matter and rebuilds as different matter would use a lot of power. I initially chose replicator... then I thought about it too hard.
