right now i'm playing Arkham City. does that count, because i got it at the start of November?

Skyrim and Modern Warfare 3. Will most likely get Skyrim this week. I'll most likely get MW3 after my exams which are after Christmas.

Ahh, well my list is really short and other than Generations there's only one game that goes over $20 (that would be Dawn of War II: Retribution)ZeroMachine said:

Considering the current state of my finances... nothing. Not even a $20 used game from Gamestop. Maybe something on steam or gog if they have something really good go on sale for $5, but most likely nothing at all. 
Both Skyrim and UMvC3.
I have an equal fervor for both games - Skyrim for the multiple playthroughs that I'm sure I'll be going to do and UMvC3 simply because I'll have a nerdgasm for playing Vergil.

I'll be getting both Skyward Sword and Skyrim (... and why haven't I noticed the similarities between the titles until just now?), but strangely enough it is the next Legend of Zelda title which seems to be the most interesting to be at the moment. As for a few possible reasons why....
- I know next to nothing about it. I haven't followed Skyward Sword at all (haven't followed Skyrim much either, but literally next to nothing on SS), so it's imminent release seems to have caught me offguard a bit. There's been next to no hype, at least compared to the spectacles other developpers use for marketing their games, and allowing Nintendo to slip this one under the radar a bit and make for might as well be a surprise hit.
- Skyward Sword is the only upcoming game where my perspective on it hasn't been tainted by the whining and moaning which is rife on the internet. I am REALLY getting tired of all the complaining I'm seeing lately, especially from the RPG-fanatics who seem determined to call every new game the worst ever and that their favourite developper has abandoned them. Partially due to me not paying attention to Skyward Sword, and partially that the discussions actually seem somewhat more mature and reasonable (why are those who play "kiddy games" more mature than those who play "mature games"?)... well, there's nothing which is currently "ruining" my experience.
- I'm starting to think that Skyrim will be little more than the next iteration of Bethedsa's sandbox. Not necessarily a bad thing, but in the end it might as well just be a change of scenery; nothing too new nor ground-breaking. It'll be fun, but I have a hunch it will go little beyond being a great time-waster. What does Skyward Sword have which is new? The one-to-one sword swinging controls, where your swings of the Wii-mote are done exactly in game. While this could easily be underwhelming, it will be outstanding if it works.

I'm going to be a maverick and suggest Cave Story on the 3DS. Laugh as much as you like; it only strengthens my resolve. I'll probably get Sonic Generations over a Boxing Day sale. Allow me to explain, if it helps:

I never really got into Fallout 3 or Knights of the Old Republic, both massive, sandboxy WRPGs, and I doubt I'd do any better with this massive, sandboxy WRPG.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Don't have a console that runs it and I'm not into fighting games, regardless of how much fanservice they provide. Not that much of a Capcom diehard, anyway.

I played the campaign of MW1 and sunk about 5 hours, total, maybe, into the multiplayer. I've also spent about 15 hours (of actual playtime) in Team Fortress 2, and that's all the multiplayer shooting I'll ever need.

Glad to see so many other people hyped for Saints Row. Also Skyward Sword. Knew there was a reason I didn't sell my Wii 2 years ago.
Skyrim for sure. If I have time and money left I'll get Uncharted 3. Saints Row 3, sadly, is pushed back to December/January. I just don't have the time for two big open world games at once.
MW3, SR3, LA Noire are certainties.
Skyrim i'll get depending on how buggy it is and when the major ones are fixed, same situation with BF3.
My wallet is hating this November, so many purchases (not all gaming related either).
