You seem to not quite grasp the concept of "unwashed masses". You provide excellent examples of it, but don't seem to understand the implications. I suppose it's a case of desensitizing to one's own... fragrance, as it were.

However, as you seem to have only a passing familiarity with keyboards (or possibly communication at all, who am I to say?) I'll leave you to explore the great wide world of the internet. Perhaps one day you'll meet the prerequisites of legible communication and we can pick up where we left off.
waaaa?? what the fuck are you on about?...are you still serious or am I being trolled here?

my point was just because somone has a console as their primary platform does not make them a "non-gamer" or "casual"

I'd be stuck in a tie between the Gamecube and the 360 controller. I've found both to be the most comfortable on the hands and the most convenient in button layout. Although i will give a honorable mention to the N64 controller despite it's weird way of holding it and rare usage of the D Pad (At least with the game i played at the time).

No, I think he is serious. It's just another example of someone forgetting that people are people, and trying to assert himself as above them. In other words Daniel Dravot, Ronald Taylor, ect. Just in no position of power.

I like PS3 controller the most. It's probably most versatile for multiple genres.

That, and I just can't imagine myself playing Demon's Souls and MGS using xbox controller with ease.

360 controller is the best for me mainly because of its high left thumbstick positioning over the lower Sixaxis position offered by the ps3's controller

Thumb cramps fo dayzZz with that.

No because he try's to say he is better then people because of that. You heard him prattle on about the "unwashed masses." To me it sounds like someone trying to say they are better than the majority because of a silly thing. Feel free to interrupt it how you will, but I just think the guy has a massive ego. Maybe he is just trolling though, don't know.

Keyboard and Mouse easily. Most Versatile, Most accurate and with numerous companies making numerous types of them, all of which IMO are better than controllers from elsewhere.

The Xbox 360 controller is my favourite, especially since I can use it with my PC as well.

But I have a special place in my heart for the N64 controller.

all controllers have their faults

the gamecube controller is ergonomically designed the best analog sticks by far
and easy to differentiate buttons which are all easily reachable also the D-pad works without fault it just needs 1 button more

the Wiimote is a crazy S.O.B. (when no nunchuck present) it's not ergonomic but has too few buttons and no analog sticks but could make up for it through movement controlls and accelometer etc trying to compare the wiimote to a classic controller is almost like trying to compare it to kinect ( entirely stupid I mean^^)

the PS3 controller ergonomically constructed, though not as good in the hands as the XboX360 controller I somehow like it more almost the same as with the gamecube controller it works good buttons are easy to differentiate the analog sticks are so-so and could be better (with notches or better grip) the D-pad works flawlessly again the R2/L2 buttons are just stupid -.-

XboX360 controller are very good ergonomically the buttons are too spherical for my taste but they work good so it's ok the analog sticks are better than those of the PS3 controller but worse than gamecube's again all buttons are easy to differentiate the D-pad is just horribly broken the idea is great but it's just way too inaccurate so much that when you use a PS3 and a XboX360 controller on the PC to play fighting games the one with the PS3 controller almost always wins (if both can play^^)

TL;DR
Gamecube>PS3>XboX360|Wiimote

well the most comfertible controller of all time is that massive one you get with steel battalion but if we are talking first party controlers that would be the 360. why you may ask, because it has just the right ammount of wight that you wont think youll break it, it has great grips, and its stick have an acctual feeling of sturdness more so then the game cube one which would be my second first party one.

Xbox 360.

Gamecube is fine and all, except the little C-stick thing just doesn't feel right to me so the next logical step is the 360. The PS3 controllers just feel too spongy and after years of 360 ownership the control overall just feels too small.

The best controller in my opinion is a keyboaard and a mouse

However if I have to choose a console controller I have too go with the really big one for the original x-box, 'cause I like 'em big

Glad to see that for once, the N64 controller is getting the rep it deserves, rather than the usual 'OMG 3 PRONGS MY MIND CAN'T TAKE IT' bullshit.

It's a damn sight more comfortable than the Playstation controllers- they don't have enough (any) support for your little and ring fingers. The Gamecube one is almost perfect, though the trigger placement was very awkward, as was having the c stick a different size.

Overall I'd say the original Xbox Controller-S and the 360 controller are probably the best, with the default original xbox and dreamcast controllers probably faring the worst.

Any of the console controllers are for casuals and non-gamers.
*sigh* *rolls eyes*

are you fucking serious?

Mouse and keyboard are better...definetly (controller relaly shit me somtimes)

but seriosuly its shit like that right there that makes peopel hate PC elitists..with good reason

and its not like I can go get a keybpard peripheral for my PS3 (belive me if I could I would)
You do realize saying a mouse and keyboard is definitely better kind of makes you come across as a PC elitist, right? In my opinion, different genres lend themselves to a different control scheme. While say an RTS works better with a mouse and keyboard, something like a fighter really doesn't need that many keys. Ultimately, it's more about how you use the controller, rather than the controller itself.

Either keyboard and mouse or Wii remote. The less reliance on joysticks the better, especially in FPS'.

Heh. I had an Xbox original. my friends used to joke about how the controller itself. would be a more effective weapon than some of the things in the actual games.

Back on topic:

I prefer the PS3 controller. But that's mostly because my first proper gaming machine was the PS1 and so I am instantly familiar with the layout and feel of the controller. I do rather like the Gamecube one and prefer the way the triggers on the Xbox are set out (the shoulder buttons are worse though)

However I did get a couple of those snap on triggers for my PS3 controller which improved the feel of those weird triggers immensely.

Oh and Keyboard + Mouse is fun but unusable for certain genres.

PS3, sure it's light but try playing something like Tekken 6 on an xBox 360 controller and see how far you get with that crappy little d-pad, although i have to admit that the triggers on xBox are better
