Poll: Which is THE Trilogy?

I was thinking while ago, because my friend refferd to the Lord of the Rings trilogy as "The Trilogy" which sent my other friend onto a rage shouting "There is only one trilogy, and only one return, and that's not "Of The King" it's "Of The Jedi" you idiot" (obviously just watched Clerks 2). But it got me thinking, what do you concider to be "The Trilogy"

Personaly i gotta go with the original Star Wars films, and before its said, yes i do realise that Star Wars is actualy 6 films but the first/latest three dont realy count as part of the original Star Wars plot, so for methe first/latest three are a competly differnt film.

Neither.

The dollars trilogy AKA 'the man with no name' trilogy is easily the best trilogy of films ever.

I mean, A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and of course (the best film in the world) The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Best trilogy ever. Perfect family friendly movie and blatantly not cash-in sequels.

I'd say it's probably the most consistent, not the best though.

If it has to be a movie trilogy then I suppose Star Wars, but they were both very good.
I would vote for 'Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy' as THE trilogy if i can include books.

i think the matrix get an honorable mention, star wars is a classic, but gunna say lord of the rings, becuase there no other movies like it, it is a one of a kind world and pure epicness.

While I agree the movies were great, I could not watch all three LOTR in a row (which I've done with all six star wars, even the bad ones). There's too much.... walking....

I dont know, the second one was in my opinion equal to if not slightly better than the first.

Well, that's what opinions are for. I'm a fan of the Star Wars films because of the expanded universe more than anything in the movies themselves, but there are a lot of good trilogies. Pirates of the Caribbean was pretty good, the second movie notwithstanding, and probably one of the better, non-Pixar, things to come out in the last several years.
