Garrus, he is just an awesome character through and through.

I would also like Legion to be in ME3, as that could give us more development on the non-zealot Geth, which I would love to see.

Miranda is hot, what can I say? I want all the crew members back honestly. Legion I can do without though.

Tali and Garrus are absolutely essential. Tali because she's my male sheps romance and she's good with a shotgun. Garrus because he's a basss and Shepards right hand alian

If I had to pick only one, then Tali. Honestly, she's one of the most sane person in my crew...aside from her hatred of the geth, which is understandable and somewhat rational.
Although, honestly, I love almost my whole crew...

Samara, Morinth, Thane, Zaeed, and Jacob I can live without though.

Samara is a Knight Templar, Morinth is a complete monster, Zaeed has no redeeming qualities, and finally Jacob is boring. Also, Jacob fits in a role that is better fulfilled by Garrus.

Dissatisfied by old job, quits and tries to do better elsewhere. Difference is Jacob joined a xenophobic human terrorist group, while Garrus started up a vigilante group on Omega.

The way the poll is turning out is pretty much how I feel as well, the characters in the top half are definitely more interesting and important than those in the bottom half.

That said, I genuinely enjoyed all of the characters (except for Jacob, being the boring human male that he is), and I'd be shocked if Miranda was simply tossed aside, considering her involvement with the story (being close to TIM) and high profile character model. ;)
Well if you couldn't tell I laid it out in my personal preference for the order of people I would want to save.

One unexpected thing is how many people really loved Garrus, I liked him in all his badass lines, but I guess for some reason I just can't pick him above Tali and her "damsel in distress" lines and witty humor, Legion just kicks so much more ass when you mod the save file to have him early on, he get some seriously amazing lines, and Mordin is more like who I would want to be than Shepard, a brilliant, logical, with loose but established morals, a deep back history with both his greatest success and worst failure in the same moment. If I could I would choose to play as Mordin in ME3 over Shepard haha.

As as side note grunt can walk off a cliff and be fed to whatever god needed to get Wrex back on my crew in ME3 :D

I would like to bang Miranda a few more times, but Legion is just too fucking awesome.

I can't believe how much support Tali is getting. I found her disgusting ( what's up with the ostrage legs? ) and less interesting than seaweed.
Guess we have very different opinions then..

Of the ones on that list, Garrus. That way he can consistently be Shepard's 'alien pal' who has fought alongside him in every single mission. Also joining the fray needs to be Legion as Legion was by far the most interesting of the new squad members but he was added in damn near the last part of the game so they had almost nothing interesting to do with him (If Legion can actually be considered Male).
I suspect Tali will be present in the game front and center which is fine, I admit I wasn't the biggest fan of her but she was fun to have around.
Also Wrex and Grunt are essential, just so that I can bring both on a mission and show the galaxy the awesome might of two Krogans instead of one.

Also the absolute MAJOR MUST HAVE for me personally, still Ashley. Seriously, she was my favorite female character in the first game and it just didn't feel right not having her in the second. I did not like how they just booted her out of the story like that and the overhanging promise that she would return is something I sincerely hope happens, because that's a plot thread that needs to be resolved and could be resolved quite beautifully during the course of the story.
I'm talking about them mending their romantic past in case you hadn't guessed yet.

I did get that impression, and I feel the same way about Mordin. He's too well fleshed-out a character to simply keep him in the background of any future games.

And I'm surprised you hated Grunt that much, I think he's just as likable as Wrex was, if you bother to talk to him between missions that is. He makes awesome jokes, laughs at violent imagery, and breaks stuff. What's not to like? ;)

I voted for Thane in the poll, because he's definitely the most awesome and likable member of Shepard's crew in ME2...

Unfortunately, even if he was about to survive his terminal disease SOMEHOW, I decided, that no matter what happens during my first playthrough, this will be my save imported for the next game (I did the same in ME1), and in my game Thane (Mordin as well) died during the suicide mission. Oh well, at least he died as a hero of the galaxy instead of dying soon because of disease.

Oh, goddamn it. My heart says Tali, but my brain says Garrus...

Oh, wait.

Garrus, then. Bros before bloodsuckers, right?

Garrus and Tali, along with Mordin at very first. Garrus is just the definition of awesome, Tali is with you and Garrus since the beginning, and Mordin is just.. Mordin.

About it, for now.

Must keep Mordin. Comic relief. Sings. Manages to speak much without getting annoying. Useful tech powers. Pistol isn't half bad, either.

Also, Dr. Chackwas needs to stay, and they need to let us romance her this time around. If they'll let us do this:

Then I want to chat her up. Who's with me?
