1992 Suzuki GSX-R1100M.........the last of the oil-cooled monsters (heavily modded)))

When I got her, she was in this state

After some therapy she's now like this

Nicely done!

I plan on building a chopper with my son when he's older so I can give it to him.

Right now Harley is tied for the most votes but is the least commented about! The sportbikes are getting responses in droves. It's fun to see what other people ride even if I am 100% totally biased for Harley's. Keep the pictures and posts coming.

Looks great. I did a double-take when I saw that it was a '92.
Yep, about a month away from its 17th birthday.......and still embarrasing newer machines regularly. And the noise, fuck it sounds good with that full Yoshi system!
I plan on doing a 2 into 1 pipe setup on my Harley, I can't wait to see how that sounds. You did really good work on it. How much did the restore set you back?

Methinks there's a bit of a Harley bias here. The typical term for what is called "some other cruiser" is a "metric cruiser" or "metric bike" more generically. That, and your "oddity bikes" are usually called dual-purpose, often sport-touring, sport-dirt, etc depending on which types that bike blends.

I own a '96 Kawasaki Vulcan 800, with a scooterizing mod, Cobra Fatty Staggered pipes, debranding, EPA mod, paint, etc.

Here, this is easier:

I ride a 1983 Honda CM400T, which is kind of a soft-chopper. It isn't well powered, but it is reliable, still in excellent shape and practical to ride, as I live in a college town with HORRENDOUS traffic layout.

I'm going to start riding a 1986 Honda Magna as my personal cycle. For now though, I get to ride my fathers till the Magna is finished getting the brake line and front shocks replaced/fixed. He owns a 2008 Honda Shadow: Spirit.

Want to get one of these...

It may only be a 125 but just LOOK at it, it's so elegant.

I love sportsbikes, especially Ducatis.

I won't even try to deny a bit of Harley bias...I was a bit limited on poll choices. I've never heard the term metric cruiser though. I tried to keep it simple and I realize some of the choices are like trying to put a circle into a square hole. I'll do better next time.

I have yet to see one other person say they have a Harley.

Harley Davidson is overrated.
We'll have to politely disagree on that last part. My favorite thing about my bike is the sound it makes everytime I start it up and give it a good rev.
Me too. I have after market pipes. My bike makes the same sound as yours.

BTW my bike is a cruiser. It looks almost exactly like this: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/model/honda/vt1100c2_ace.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/model/honda/honda1100ace.asp&usg=__7GKUAYY4hbBNiNGs6jXv-3BsqbM=&h=174&w=320&sz=11&hl=en&start=38&um=1&tbnid=uTpHV-xbKI87uM:&tbnh=64&tbnw=118&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dhonda%2Bshadow%2Bace%2B1100%26ndsp%3D21%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial%26sa%3DN%26start%3D21%26um%3D1

Not a lot!

I paid £1000 for the bike and most of the bits needed to piece it back together. I work in a bodyshop so all paintwork and polishing was basically free.

My boss used to race bikes and has a load of engineering qualifications so is a bit of a genius. He can also use a lathe to create all sorts of spacers etc from solid aluminium, so all the custom pieces fit perfectly.

The other guy I work with (who used to own my bike) is a machine when it comes to building/assembling things, he put most of it together and I paid him with some hard labour in his field when it came to bailing time last summer! He used to race sidecars too, even at the Isle of Man TT, so we're sorted when it comes to know-how!

We can make anything. But if I'd have paid for the time gone into it........maybe £5000 on top of the cost of the bike.

I have yet to come across a bike that has the same sound as the Harley, even with aftermarket pipes. Most other bikes are liquid cooled and have a smaller engine size. I'm not saying it doesn't sound good, I just think Harley's have a pretty unique sound to them.

I can't wait to drop the 2 into 1 pipes on mine though...you want to talk about roar. I can't wait.

That is my bike before it even left the showroom. I put forward foot controls and an aftermarket seat so my wife can ride as well.

i was tempted to say a vespa for the lolz but in truth cruising bikes are the only good bikes out there after all who in there right mind would want to be crouched over on one of those ugly crotch rocket racing bikes any way those things have got to be bad for the back

I haven't noticed any real difference in sound. The reason I don't care for HD is that I don't think they are well made. Everyone I know who owns one puts in in the shop at least once or twice a year. Yet it costs more than twice as much as any other similar bike.

I bought my bike used. It's now more than 10 years old with over 50k miles on it and 2 people before me learned how to ride on it. Even with all the abuse new riders put on a bike and after all that time and mileage, my bike has only been in the shop ONCE. At that was because of hurricane damage after Katrina. Honda's are built like ROCKS.

I'm not trying to bash HD or anything, I just personally see the name as the only reason to pick it over another bike.

I've never had a single problem with my bike and haven't really seen anyone else with major problems. The only money I've spent is the first 1k mile checkup and it broke in great. I've seen plenty of Harley's out there with well over 100,000 miles and running fine. Part of the reason I bought it because it IS a Harley. It's a lot of fun going to the dealership on sat and hanging out with the other rides drinking coffee and having doughnuts, then of course, riding. I do love the fact that my motorcycle says Harley on the side; it's an American legend.

I want this, the V-rex. [http://www.knfilters.com/images/press/vrex1.jpg]

However, there is an old Yamaha thing in the garage falling apart.
