Well, that was a nice Jimquisition, wasn't it? Anyway. I'm not asking which console you think 'won' this generation - there's plenty of ways to interpret that - but which console you like the most of late. Be honest, and provide a good reason.

Bonus: +3 points to anyone who can use the word 'Knack' in a dirty limerick.

You know what? I'm going to do the unthinkable and say I like them all. They all have or will have games I want. Might take a few years, but I'll probably end up owning all of them.

Except the Ouya. Sorry, little cube, but you suck.

The Wii U cause...its the one I own and want to own. As for PS4 and Xbox One, I want one of them but...it mostly doesn't matter, or didn't, but Samurai Warriors 4 and Dynasty Warriors 8 XL might change that...but I have to wait to next summer minimum.

(I don't hate either of them, I just don't feel so sure like I did with the 360 versus the PS3)

Wii U is the only one I plan to get in the immediate future. As soon as Bayonetta 2 releases I'll pick one up (along with Mario 3D world and The Wonderful 101). The other consoles have nothing to interest me as of yet.

I'm going to be one of the few people to say this I imagine, but the Xbox One. It has the most games I'm interested in, simple as that. I will undoubtedly enjoy each of them for all the various games and quirks throughout the generation, however.

In terms of hardware standardization and OS design (forgetting the Steam boxes, like you did)... the PS4 wins in my book. Still not getting one, but it's got the best design philosophy behind it.

In terms of features and games available for the system... WiiU, for being actually backwards compatible and generally pretty consumer friendly. Major demerits for the tablet controller though. A huge touchscreen with crappy battery life is a terrible primary controller no matter how cool any of its features are.

Well out of the ones I own so far, the Wii U...

That's it, just the Wii U.

Having a lot of fun with it so far. Currently playing Rayman Legends and Wind Waker HD. My nephews were watching me play the latter and practically fell in love with it. And now they want it for their Wii U.

Fills my heart with joy to share the wonders of gaming with those close to me.

*ahem* Going on a tangent here ANYWAY!

Not sure about the PS4 or Xbone yet. I'll probably just invest in a gaming PC instead for now and MAYBE get a PS4 in a couple of years or so once there are exclusives I really want.

Playstation 4

I have never owned an X-Box. I haven't owned a Nintendo system since the NES - the NES that came with the Power Pad specifically.

As far as Killzone goes, I just don't have the knack for games like that. If I get a PS4 for Christmas, I'll let it sit around in its box until some games I actually want to play come out for it. Like the Witcher 3.

I asked which console you liked the most, based on experiences. Unless your anticipation for the thing is greater than enjoyment you actually get from real games, like Mario, then you can't count something that hasn't come out. (And if that's the case, you'd never have a reason to buy it.)

WiiU because Super Mario 3D World looks awesome! (I bought it last year just for the 3D Mario Game that would eventually come out, which turned out to be 3D World) I plan on buying the game for Christmas.

My brother, though, he's interested in the XBone.

Playstation 4. I don't have one yet, as there's not much for me to get for it yet, but it definitely looks better for 'gaming', which is my primary use for a console. (Almost only, as is actually.) Then again, the PSN actually has some way better things going on then Live, and if I have to pay to play, well, it's a much better deal.

I'd go to PC, but that craps too much hassle. Seriously fiddling with all these things in case a game may or may not run because of this or that or worrying about specs.

Nah, that's not for me. That's a pain in the ass.

Wii U. Mario, etc.
PS4. Killzone and...Killzone.
Microsoft - fie on your 1080p!
Ouya. Can't get enough Amazing Frog!
PC, because I don't know what 'console' means.
Who cares? I'm boring and don't play any games.
Wow nice poll. Completely not obvious what your thoughts on the matter are ¬_¬

Anyway, the ps4 because it runs well and Sony seems to care about bringing it games. If by Ouya, you mean android as a platform for games then yes, I'm definitely interested that too but I'm not sure where it would go or how I would use it. Pc does what it does best, playing older games and games with good moding communities I guess I'll count it as a tie. The Wii U is the Wii U and all it has is "Mario, etc..." so while I may get one, I won't spend more than $200 on a Mario, etc machine. And saying anything about the xb1 would just be beating a dead horse at this point

Jim Sterling makes an episode about the Wii U being the best console after months of people giving it shit but now suddenly most people see it as the best console? How am I honestly not shocked by this.

Personally, I'm pretty much sticking with PC from this point in. The only use I've had out of my Xbox in the last few months was with GTA V, and if that was launched at the same time on PC, I would be playing it there instead. I have a library of damn near a couple hundred titles now, that are transferable no matter what PC I use them on so long as the specs are up to snuff. That is something I will commend the Wii U for is the backwards compatibility. I do see it as a fairly important that has been lost within this last generation. Building up a library is a long and expensive process, and having to start all over again every number of years is an annoying task, not to mention if there's anything I ever want to go back on, well, unless I kept the disc, console, controllers, etc., it's lost to the past.

Xbone, It's all about first impressions and when your first impression is Dead Rising 3 vs Killzone or Knack... ya Dead Rising.

Crimson dragon and Killer instinct were must buys and Forza 5 made an good add on, Powerstar golf for as much as I enjoy the goofy golf games as a time waster was an ok add on. Maybe ryse sometime, maybe not.

Eh I know how fangirlish I sound >.< but since 2 gens ago I've gotten all the consoles pretty much in launch window if not launch day and 900 dollars for both wasn't happening at launch, a month or 3 later I'll pick up the ps4. Having games at launch is a big thing for consoles since more won't come out till early or mid the year after and last gen multi-platforms of games I stopped caring about years ago like AC, BF or COD, or ones I never got into like KZ wouldn't drive me to a PS4 even if they might look slightly better. KZ if i wanted to get into it I'd pick up the PS3 trilogy first and knack looks like a poor ratchet and clank when new ratchet and clank on PS3 just came out. Always loved dead rising tho, I think I have to blame some of the RPG skinner box feeling on it, but damn it's the only thing I knew had real rpg elements in it at least and back tracking and new game + *smiles*

Wii U I'm sorry your forgotten but when you come out with your single nintendo title release in 4 months on the SAME day as the console I had to give the other one up to pick up I can't spend my money on your game.

There should be a "none of the above." I seriously don't like any of the consoles of this generation. The Nintendo re-releasing has been getting on my nerves, the controller has crap battery life, and just in general it's not my style of game. The PS4 is probably the best of the lot in terms of not screwing over customers, but it still will carry the telltale marks of AAA games trying to screw you out of every single one of your pennies. Things that should have been included from day 1 are now DLC. The XBone has the disadvantages of the games all trying to give you less content for the same price while also being run by people who think you should have to pay if you borrow a game from a friend for a couple of days. I just find it absurd that Battlefield 4 is already releasing DLC when the game has been out for less than a month.

But the Steam Machines(PCs) will have thousands of great games to play at launch. So you do know what you're getting with that.
The thing is the PC has become the only thing with backwards compatibility and no fee for paying for online. Also we're seeing more pc games get splitscreen (was once unheard of) and less console games with it (was once a standard feature) so even for social gamers like my family, the pc is becoming the better choice.
I used to kind of prefer the consoles (for most games at least) but it just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

WiiU, cause as I've heard before, the other consoles feel more like extensions of their previous consoles, with a lot of features forgetting the whole GAME part of a game's console (Looking at you, Xbone). The WiiU is meant for games, and has elements of other stuff like Netflix and such. And I like that. I also like the controller, and the games coming out for it. No complaints here~
