Wii U wins it for me. It has the advantage of having more games now and upcoming like the various Mario games, Smash Bros., Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, etc. Plus, Nintendo games have always been the ones that provide me with the most fun. The other consoles don't really have anything exclusive to them that I'm interested in at the moment, but I'll probably be going with the PS4 eventually since Sony has more interesting exclusives compared to Xbox in my opinion. Not to mention it seems to be focused on games, unlike Xbox which is trying to be the multimedia end all package.

Wow, could've made it an even 21 21 if I had voted PS4, which would be what I would've voted for if PC weren't in it.

When there are enough seriously good titles and its at a $300 odd price point, I'll consider it.

Which one do I like the most? I'm going to have to say the Wii U. Mostly because it has the most games on it that I like, but also because I don't have to deal with paying for online features or any always-online requirements.

At first I was very disappointed in PS4s opening lineup, but recently I've decided it's time to start expanding my genres. Those open world sandbox RPG-shooters are starting to look very appealing to me as I'm able to tolerate the grind of Fantasy RPG after Fantasy RPG for shorter periods of time. I want to stop playing a hero. I want to exploit every ridiculous glitch that sends the games screaming into the uncanny valley.

I'm going to stick with PC & 3DS XL until the consoles are even cheaper & in their 3ed generation, like I wait 3 years for all the worst kinks to get ironed out of a new OS. I would like to get ALL of the consoles.

There should be a "none of the above."
There is. The last one.
Not picking a new console doesn't mean you don't play games still.

OT: None at the moment, surprise surprise. I'm sure they are all competent enough, though I still don't want to go near the Xbone because of the forced Kinect and download required before playing anything. The games so far are pretty much bland retreads I can't get myself into enough to go out and spend over $400 on. This might be the first generation where I won't own any of the consoles, the current trends just bore the hell out of me.

Wii U for me. I've been a hopeless Nintendo fanboy since the age of nine, and I just can't go without my Marios, Zeldas etc. If I could afford another console I'd probably go PS4, but the Wii U has more than enough to occupy my limited free time.

Anyway, on with business.

Bonus: +3 points to anyone who can use the word 'Knack' in a dirty limerick.
I once loved a vidyagame called Knack,
So much that I shoved it up my crack,
But the disc was too wide,
Hard to fit it inside,
Now my bumhole's gone all loose and slack.

I'll see myself out.

I own an Xbox One, but that's just because I don't see it as the brick made by Satan and I actually want to play the games on it. That said my choice would be...

The Wii U, out of the actual consoles it's the most consumer friendly, offers actual games, doesn't have to take over your TV, can be played like a handheld, is backwards freaking compatible, still has nice looking games (but then again the Wii had nice looking games), embraces physical copies, has guaranteed exclusive franchises unlike MS and Sony who either drop or lose their exclusivity and it has a variety of controllers.

As it stands now, definitely Xbox. There's only a few Xbox exclusives out that I'd like to play but there are exactly zero PS4 exclusives I'm interested in playing. In fact, even looking at the future lineup, I can't think of any PS4 and Xbox exclusives I care about playing. The Wii U isn't even on my radar. Mario and Zelda are not system sellers for me. The only titles I'm really looking forward to are multiplatform but Xbox does have one or two exclusives that I wouldn't mind actually paying for, so I give a very apathetic vote to the Xbox One. Really, either console would be primarily used as a Netflix machine

The WiiU.

That being said, I got a Wii last generation, and only recently have I acquired a reasonable library (i.e. 5-6) games that appeal to me.

So may be waiting a while. Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 are tempting me, though. Even better if they improve the virtual console (GAMECUBE, DAMMIT). And I've got little to no interest in Mario/Zelda/Metroid (well, maybe Metroid).

It's unlikely that any of the supposed indies appearing on the WiiU won't be on PC first and foremost, and I prefer the flexibility and superior performance of that, but 5+ better-than-solid first party/exclusive titles and a price drop (well...I don't need it now), and I'm sold.

I've been loving the Wii U for quite a while now, the fact that there was an episode of it earlier this week had no impact on me, but go on assume everyone to be a flock of sheep.

the controller has crap battery life
I've never understood this criticism. It has bad battery life... and a charger which you can use while playing. You can't play this without being close to the Wii U which has to be plugged into a power source which means you'll never play WiiU while not being near a power source that you can use to charge it.

OT: My favourite gaming device as of late would be my PC I guess, but as far as consoles go (which is the discussion) I'm going with the Wii U. The PS4 is tempting me and I will probably get one once I see games I want, but right now Wii U got Monster Hunter and that is one of my favourite games of this year and by far the one I have played the most.

PC for now, will likely get a PS4 when Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out. Feels like a waste for only one game I care about but I guess we'll see what happens.

Well I'm not into consoles but as a third party observer I'd say console wise PS4 has the most to offer in the long run, they are loosing the battle on games but at the same time Xbox games come stuffed with micro transactions which makes it very clear where that boat is headed.

Unless you like Nintendo games, then there really isn't much choice.

None of them. Seeing as I don't own any of the new consoles. Not much appeals to me. I'm leaning towards getting a PS4 when Metal Gear Solid V and Final Fantasy XV are out. I do really dig the dualshock 4 though. Picked up one to use with my PC and PS3. Great redesign.

Oh, by all means, not everyone is like that. Nintendo has a devoted fan base, and I'd expect a nice portion of people voting for them regardless of the current state because they truly love the product.

However, as time has gone on here, I've become a bit more cynical in nature towards any producer on this site, and the gain of salt that is not often granted to them. I like Jim Sterling a lot, but find once in a while he can go on an entirely wrong tangent. The only thing is, several people here seem to treat his work as scripture which is annoying. A number of times, if the subject of a thread is related to his videos, at least one person will post the video directly, siting it as almost the end of the argument since it's already been covered. Same could be said with Yahtzee and reviews, and how once he says something, the general public opinion seems to change.

Look, I hate being one of those "You're all sheep guys", but over the past few months, I've become a bit more annoyed with some of the attitude towards it. Most recently I feel it was Batman Origins, which before the review by Yahtzee, I was reading a good amount of praise by people all over the site for it, but after that review came out, public opinion of it seemed to take a nose dive. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw in the threads I've been reading, and have only seen stuff like this by coincidence, but after a number of months of a general trend, I feel it's gained a bit more weight. And I know, people's opinions can be changed, especially when shown a convincing argument, I just feel that not everyone is giving enough thought and consideration to the claims made.

So, not so much saying everyone is a flock of sheep, just that the general trend is that people seem to feel more swayed now by the opinion of the content producers of this site than before. It's the impression that I've gotten over the past couple months. Can I back it up completely? No, but it's the impression that I've been given a number of times over the past six or so months. Honestly, now looking at it, the results are looking a bit more like what I'd have honestly expected.

Oh, and going on the point you made about not seeing a big deal for low battery life, it's just annoying is all. When you've got wireless, you're a bit more used to freedom of movement. When you've got to go back to being wired, you lose that. For me, I got a wireless Xbox controller, and a wired one, and the wired one will only reach to one of the couches by my TV, the other is just a bit too far. Not to mention if you forget to charge it, and then come back to it, only to find it dead, it's also very annoying. My phone currently only holds about 24 hours of battery. Normally works since I'm quite often home most nights, or am able to leave it charging right until I leave. On occasion though, I will forget, which will make an hour long bus ride home annoying when you have to conserve the last 7% of life left in it.

My money is on Sony as soon as there are games i want to play. Over the long term the Sony exclusives are more for me. Only for Dead Rising i won`t buy an Xbox and the other game would be AC4 which i could get on both consoles. No reason to spend the 400 now.

Seriously? no Steam Machine option?? please add one at once. I know its not released yet but its still one of the consoles for the next generation.
I asked which console you liked the most, based on experiences. Unless your anticipation for the thing is greater than enjoyment you actually get from real games, like Mario, then you can't count something that hasn't come out. (And if that's the case, you'd never have a reason to buy it.)
Well I *Like* the features that have been listed about the Steam Machines more than I *Like* what I have heard and read about each of the other platforms. I don't have ANY of them, and haven't tried any of them, so i only have what I like and don't like about what features they have. You asked what I like. I like the idea of steam machines the most as a console. Open platform, linux gaming, open hardware development.

I stand by my assertion, please add a steam machine option.
