Because handhelds don't exist?

I basically only play 3DS these days.

Jim Sterling makes an episode about the Wii U being the best console after months of people giving it shit but now suddenly most people see it as the best console? How am I honestly not shocked by this.
I think it has a lot to do with how people were disillusioned by PS4 and Xbone. So now a lot of people who were ignoring WiiU in favour of waiting for the 'real' next gen consoles are reconsidering it. (And becoming PC gamers.)

First option will probably always be PC for me.

I would quite like a PS4 though. It's been years since Microsoft had any exclusives I give a damn about, and I feel like I've had my fill of Mario at this point.

None of them.

They don't look bad overall (although the XBone still has all of the flaws that caused me to sell my 360), but there is nothing I can see that justifies paying £250/350/430 for one.

No exclusives that interest me. No features that I can't get already. There is just nothing worth paying for that I cannot already get. Perhaps in a year or so once they have more games and add new things, but as it stands I just have no interest in this generation.

Even PC gaming doesn't have a whole lot just now that I'd like. A handful of indie titles I am looking forward to, but even the larger games only have a handful of "maybes". TitanFall and Dragon Age: Inquisition are the only announced titles that I have more than a passing interest in. Fallout 4 may be announced soon, but that is only one game.

The Wii U, it's the only I have, and I don't really care to get the other two for a long time.

I stand corrected. I have noticed this to some degree myself. However Batman Arkham Origins is a game that has received a lot of mixed criticism so I'm not sure if I can account that to being swayed. Some people liked it while some had problems looking past game breaking bugs.

However for the charger on the Wii U gamepad it is quite different from the case of wired controllers. A wired controller needs to be connected to the console while the charger can be connected to any power socket. I can just as easily sit in a different room than my Wii U and still use the gamepad. However this criticism is something I feel may have its origin in Zero Punctuation so we're back to what you mentioned.

As a PC gamer I am most likely going to pick up a WiiU.
It seems like the only console that is at least trying to do something new. The other two just seem like an evolution on the previous generation rather than a much needed revolution.

Seriously? no Steam Machine option?? please add one at once. I know its not released yet but its still one of the consoles for the next generation.
I asked which console you liked the most, based on experiences. Unless your anticipation for the thing is greater than enjoyment you actually get from real games, like Mario, then you can't count something that hasn't come out. (And if that's the case, you'd never have a reason to buy it.)
Well I *Like* the features that have been listed about the Steam Machines more than I *Like* what I have heard and read about each of the other platforms. I don't have ANY of them, and haven't tried any of them, so i only have what I like and don't like about what features they have. You asked what I like. I like the idea of steam machines the most as a console. Open platform, linux gaming, open hardware development.

I stand by my assertion, please add a steam machine option.
And I stand by not putting it in. I've only posed this question now, after all the consoles have come out, because I want it to be based on experiences. I will not take part in a hype machine, nor will I shower praise onto a company that's had praise showered on it nonstop since its inception.

The only announced PS4 exclusive I'm interested in is The Order: 1866. And I guess the next Uncharted because the second one was awesome (Can't go wrong with a Scooby-Doo twist ending). The announced Xbox exclusives I'm interested in are Forza 5, Sunset Overdrive (Insomniac Games' games are awesome, and it reminds me of that Korean wall-running shooter Gunz), and the next Halo (Halo has always been at least mediocre).

But I'll stick with PC. I much rather upgrade to a fancier desktop than buy a new console. I'll grab Titanfall and most likely Watch Dogs for it. And Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon 2 (whenever that comes out).

Well, as of this morning I've got all three under me telly (not bragging - I'm a technophile.)

I love the WiiU, but for me it's very much for niche titles - those very special Nintendo-only franchises like Zelda, past Metroids and Mario.

Not much to say about the new boys yet (the launch titles are a major crapfest), but I have to say that the big, ugly XBone wins the first impressions race hands down. The Kinect is so much more seamlessly integrated than the playstation camera - I suppose no major surprise considering the latter being an optional add-on. But the whole xbox front end just seems so much ...better than the Sony equivalent.

Like I say, very early days, but the Bone's just giving off better vibes.

Wii U. I don't have to keep the original Wii hooked up to play those games, can purchase awesome stuff from the Wii e-Shop, have some cool games that I'm able to play...assuming I can find them...and the system is going to have the most exclusives. Maybe not the most robust selection of exclusives but it's the only place in town to get my Mario, Zelda, F-Zero, Metroid, Smash fix. I'm still planning on getting a PS4 eventually though, once Kingdom Hearts or, Final Fantasy XV releases and the current line-up have gone down to value prices.

I think after all these years of trying both consoles,Pc's and handhelds I can say neither seeing as how I like all 3 and the purposes they serve for my gaming habits.

XB1 has the best games compared to the others, and thats all that matters to me. PS4 is a close second, just has zero exclusives that interest me. WiiU, i have never had a Nintendo console nor been interested in any of their games.

Eh, I don't own any of them, there's nothing for me on them yet.
But if I was given the money to buy one of them... I think it'd be the PS4. At least I'll have Infamous and soon-to-be Uncharted, there hasn't been anything even announced for the other two that I'm interested in.

I got a warning for posting an image without adding written content, despite my written content being on the image D:. To reiterate in text, can you provide an option for steam machines? none of the other options suit me as you asked which console I like the look of most.

Going to have to go with PC since it's in the poll. It's what I use 90% of the time, games are cheap, modding is fun, backwards compatible, etc etc.

Disregarding the PC, I'd have to go with PS4. Most powerful, cheaper than the Xbone, likely to have the most exclusives that interest me, and will interact with my Vita. The Xbone impresses me more than I thought it would; that is to say it impresses me more than zero. The PS4 still comes out considerably ahead.

The Wii U just doesn't have anything for me, sorry to say. I can't see any real reason why I'd enjoy the games more than I enjoyed the games on the Wii. And I didn't enjoy the games on the Wii. So.

And the OUYA. No interest at all. Sorry :/

Currently none, but I'm placing my bets on the PS4 being best later in the gen. I like Japanese games and Japanese devs are more likely to make games for their home consoles. However with the WiiU being Nintendo it doesn't have as much 3rd party support.

Steam machine isn't a PC, its a PC running SteamOS, big difference, (games library will be different and I wont have to deal with windows bloatware)

Edit: in the same way an Xbone isn't a PC, its a PC running xboxOS.
same with PS4
Input is key, consoles use controllers, and the steam machines will use the Steam Controller.
