Gamestop clearly has the worst (sadly). I'm surprised a boycott hasn't started about Vegas. Aaaaannnnnnyyyyyywwwaaaaayyyyyyy, I wouldn't pre-order this game at all. Obsidian has proven that they are not worth the money to buy their low grade games.
do you think bethesda would ALLOW low quality games? no, they are pulling the ropes. if obsidian fails, its bethesda's fault.
The Publishers job is just maketing and funding. Bethesda is the Publisher not the dev. So if Obsidian screws up Bethesda's only issue was the MASSIVE was of money that the game will inevitably be.
unfortunately they said they are MONITORING their EVERY MOVE. hell every decision obsidian makes has to be OK'd by bethesda. bethesda has tight reigns.
Hmmm you mean like lucas arts did with KoTOR II?

Edit: I added the II because I acidentally said KoTOR instead.
you do realize that it was lucas arts who pushed obsidian to death to get the game out as quickly as possible right? obsidian didn't have the time to finish the game, hell they had the bloody content on the disc itself just not part of the game and activated, its part of mods now anyways so not too big of a deal just saying it wasn't their fault it ended so badly/full of bugs...

and honestly, i really liked alpha protocol, i didn't have any mess ups, the combat worked just fine for me, and the plot is actually pretty good and the choices do make differences which put a smile on my face, so i dont see why people dislike it so much...but then again i have seen some people base there hate purely on the reviews they have read on it.

OT: i got it with fallout 3 special deal on steam...and since its by obsidian, i might actually enjoy this fallout..the third one was very boring to me and i only have skimmed the other two at a friends house so didn't get to properly judge those.

First I'll need to know if it's any good, since Bethesda got their hands on Fallout I haven't been too excited about anything Fallout. (Though I'm not excited about Interplay's MMO either. It's a MMO!). So no, not pre-ordering. Will need to see reviews.

You completely missed the point I was trying to make. None of their game by any publisher has been rated good. Alpha Protocol made by Sega and Obsidian was rated bad. (Don't say "I liked it so that proves you wrong that it was bad" I said RATED bad not IS bad)

Did you play Wet?

I have a bit more faith in New Vegas than I have in Obsidian overall.
Let?s face it. Besides the little tweaks, this is basically going to be Fallout 3 in another location. It?s not like they had to build a whole new game from the ground up. They just needed to make something cool with the GECK. Plenty of fans made some really cool add-ons and I think the people who made the original fallouts could also make something cool.

In answer to OP, I?m probably going to get the Merc Pack/BestBuy. My wife likes the caravan pack but we don?t live anywhere near a Walmart.

yeahh i was tired last night and i re read it and noticed i did miss what you were going for. and i agree the ratings never are good no matter the publisher, and believe me i dont justify the game BEING THE BEST just because i like it, but i can actually back up reasons as to why i like it while some people blatantly hate games with no reasons to back up why they do.

I'm either getting it from Amazon or Best Buy.

I don't care what pre-order bonus I get, I just really want to play the game!

EDIT:

The Mercenary Pack from Best Buy is the one that sounded most appealing to me. I want the Collector's Edition though, and Best Buy is only offering the pre-orders bonuses for standard edition pre-orders.

EB it is.
Really?

Well, if I'm getting it from Best Buy, (which I probably will) I won't be getting a pre-order bonus.

I never pre-order games. I'll get it when I get it. Why settle for one anyways? I'll have all the items eventually and I probably won't pay a dime for any of them.

I problably won't preorder it at all but if I do I'm getting for PC so my only choice is the Caravan pack right? Which is a shame, cause I'd like a Vault Suit.

i got the steam deal, got in a good steal with a fallout 3 and oblivion combo a few months back.

honestly (despite the bugs) kotor 2 is a favorite game of mine, and same with alpha protocol, which i didn't have half the bugs happen to me as other ppl had with alpha protocol but overall i liked the leveling and the story of it, so it had me hooked for a good 4-5 playthroughs.

so if obsidian makes fallout new vegas anything like kotor II or alpha protocol (minus the bugs and glitches hopefully..which bethesda is also known for having probably just a little bit less) they will probably be there but i will still love the game.

I don't really care about the pre-order bonuses. These are amazingly mediocre, in my opinion.

I'm more of a collectible kind of guy. I'll more than likely get the Collector's Edition, from Amazon, so I guess I'm getting the "Tribal Pack" by default, eh? It's all preference really. There isn't anything in the collector's edition that couldn't be considered "mediocre", but I get these editions for games I deem shelf-worthy in my home.

It will be nice to dig out the box in a decade or so, and fondly remember it, at the very least. Rather than have some flimsy cardboard casing all crushed and creased to bits.

I got the Gamestop one as I pre-ordered the game there before the bonuses were announced, and since I got the collector's edition, I didn't want to change it.

I've ordered the Collector's edition from GAME here in the UK and I don't think it comes with a bonus. Please, if anyone can correct or confirm because it's pissing me off.

None. They all sound like shitty mods, really.

And the game better have mods.
