If I went deaf I'd finally have the ability to tune people out and get the world to shut up. I'd miss music dearly, but you gotta take the good with the bad.

Hearing. I'm edging towards deafness either way, have failed several hearing tests, and am generally going to need a hearing aid sometime soon... so I might as well just give up and have my hearing go in one fell swoop, if I had to lose something.

I'm already near-blind without my glasses. Losing my sight would be less devastating than losing my hearing... because without that I'd never hear my favorite songs or my loved ones' voices again.

I'd have a tough time choosing between smell and touch. I don't see smell as nescessary, but without touch you can't feel pain. I say smell.

I could stand to lose touch. It means my brain compensates anyway, I don't lose any huge practical function, and I don't feel pain.
That could lead to certain...romantic difficulties as well.

I would probably ditch smell.

Well since my sense of smell is almost nonexistant anyway, that.
This, I can't smell much anyways. Might as well get rid of it completly if I have too.

Because I love music, the feel of women :D, I don't want to have to learn brail, and well a little ganja makes those chocolate pancakes with cookie doh inside 10x more better which should be impossible but it does and taste orgasmic.

It was between smell and touch, but then I remembered pleasure would be thrown out with the pain.

I said smell, but I think it'd really be taste for me.
I like the smell of flowers and nice perfumes. And your tasting experience is half based off of what you smell anyways, so I'd kind of still be able to enjoy good food.

I would definately have to go with taste. Yes it would suck to not be able to taste really good foods but I can think of benefits from not having a sense of taste. For example there would be no reason for me to eat fattening foods since the only reason people eat food like that is because it tastes good. That would also mean there would be no reason to over eat as well. I would eat more foods that are healthier for me because then I wouldn't have to taste how crappy it is.

See, I was going to do smell too, but then I remembered you need smell to taste.
You don't need smell to taste, it just influences the perception of taste greatly. So you wouldn't lose your sense of taste with it, but it would drastically change. You would be left with everything having very bland tastes like generic sweet, bitter, salty, meat. The only reason I'd keep taste over smell is that I have trouble eating as it is.

Taste. Not smell, because that takes out taste as well, not touch, because I might injure myself badly without knowing, not sight or hearing for obvious reasons.

However, if I couldn't taste anything, I might be able to eat healthy things again without gagging.
