Surprised no-one has done this already. There are a lot of threads on this topic already, with people talking about a 'general consensus' being reached. I'd be interested in seeing if this consensus actually exists.

(For those of you who don't believe that it is possible to 'win' a conference, please just treat this as showing which companies did relatively better)

I'm going to hold my vote until a little later. We've still got 2 more days of e3, too. I kinda jumped the gun early with my thread if only to be first before someone else did the same. But it's still too soon to really be final with it, isn't it?

Not going to lie and say that my Nintendo Boner isn't trying to pierce the heavens still, but it'd be wrong for me to vote without checking what Sony's been up to, since I'm sure they've not just been sitting around. And Microsoft... well, like I've said before: 99 more games alongside Killer Instinct that are exclusive to the Xboner189, and I'll forgive them of how insulting and patronizing they were, and purchase an Xboner and all those games.

I suspect I'll be going with at least Nintendo, but maybe Sony did just as well, and my contact needs to get back to me, and maybe even Microsoft did decently, so all 3 possibly did good.

Fair enough, I was thinking mainly of the conferences, but if people want to look at the whole event that's fine as well. I tend to enjoy the conferences, but not to watch all the individual game based reports, because seeing to much of a game tends to spoil it for me when I actually get around to playing it.

Valid Point. If I weren't so busy admiring Nintendo, I'd be able to look at the other conferences and be able to give a fair vote. I certainly should do so soon. But at the very least, Nintendo certainly had a good showing this year; that's for certain.

Nintendo had a good showing this year and the other two were lackluster. Not a showing that made buying a Wii U worthwhile, but above and beyond what I would have expected. They deserve a boost in Wii U sales for this.

Microsoft had one or two more exclusives than I was expecting but there was very little to set the world on fire. Little Big Planet 3 from Sony was really good and they deserve kudos for having the only real on-stage gameplay demo but both of the publishers suffered from too much CGI and not enough gameplay which makes it hard to get excited about the games.

Bloodbourne in particular I don't understand. They've got a working demo at E3 and with it's pedigree the game should completely be sold on it's gameplay instead of it's ideas and yet no gameplay footage? The CGI trailers in general at E3 this year weren't even very good. Very few of them gave any idea of what the game would be about and why we should care, with the exception of Ubisofts

I had to pick poor showing for all 3, Other then that DR3 content and splitoon? and whatever they do with phantom dust. There wasn't anything that either we haven't seen or haven't seen that coming other then maybe starfox. And if the most exciting thing for me was a remake of the first 3 phoenix wright games that I'm not even sure was announced at e3 or not it's kinda bad.

Microsoft announced the return of Halo 2 multiplayer. THEY WIN IT FOREVER! I dont care if next year Nintendo or Sony announce that they created world peace or a the invention of warp drive technology, Microsoft still announced Halo 2 multiplayer.

I'd say Nintendo won overall, followed by Microsoft then Sony. I think all three of them were pretty good this year and I'm looking forward to quite a lot of it.

EA's was fucking shit.

Nintendo won.

It would have been Sony if they then didn't proceed to spend 45 minutes talking about service platforms that basically told EU gamers to go fuck themselves (Seriously watch that section again and count how many times they say "north american subscribers can...") in terms of both services and again in price point.

MS was good but I also got a sense of them (and Sony although not quite to the same degree) wringing their hands and in quiet whispers going: "Guys, I know it's on PC too, but it's the super best version of this game on our console... no no... it plays better at 30fps and looks better at 720p... guys... GUUUUUYS!".

I'd say Nintendo won. It would have been a close race between them and Sony if they didn't spend 20 minutes talking about movies and TV less than 5 minutes after they stress the importance of games. Everyone except EA had at least a decent showing this year.

To me, Nintendo won since they were the only ones to make me want their console.

That said, there were lots of good game announcements out of Sony and MS, so it's not like they dun goofed.

Then again, I went in not really caring about anyone other than old ninty this year, so I might be biased. Overall, though, I'm just glad they actually delivered.

I would say that Sony and Nintendo pretty much tied. Sony had more diversity and showed titles that may have actually excited someone not already sold on the PS4. Nintendo, while it had an incredibly strong showing overall, didn't really offer much to truly surprise or attract someone who wasn't already drinking the Nintendo Kool-Aid.

I dont think any one won, EA was the really crappy one though.

Nintendo had a huge advantage with presenting a carefully edited video instead of a live conference, they needed to fuck it up really hard to make it less interesting. Its rather obvious that all the other conferences felt longer and dragged out. The problem with Nintendo is that all they showed wont atract anyone that wasnt already playing ball on their side even if by itself had good quality.

My answer in another thread:

Of course nintendo won the E3, because nitendo wins every E3 ever!

Well, that might seem like an overstatement form a rabid fan. It is. I'm a fanboy and what not and that is exageretaing. But for me it is the truth. Why? For simple reason, Nintendo does their own thing.

And that is the reason for me to own a console. I don't want a PC with a closed platform and a controller. I want a game consoel, something that gives me an experience completely different that what I can get with a PC. And that si what Nintendo has deliviered for years to me. The way of playing and the games to be played in nitendo consoles are jsut Nintendo doing their own thing. That can be bad to some people but I like it. I like that they havce their vision and stick with ti, ignoring the industry trends and focusing on doing their way of doing games. It may not be for everyone, but know what? that is good, because it hasn't to be tailored for you, it has to be made with passion and heart. And that same passion and ideas go into the hardware.

Most of the games may be the classic IP (I would say that at least once a year we have a new or very old IP revivied to coutner that) but well, sadly if that is how it works in the industry it is part of our fault (we tend not to buy new things). But the other consoels only give me experiences in general that I can find in my PC, so buying one is almost redundant. "Hey look Titanfall looks like my kind of game, but well, I get it on Origin with controls I like better" to "hey Smash brother is doing great, is only on Nintendo and focuses on local multiplayer which I can't get on my PC". That is how I look at the difference between console nmaker. Yes, there are exclusives I would buy a console for. But Nintendo is unique in both hardware and software. Even things that can work on other platforms, liek a competetive TPS is done in a Nintendo fashion, trying to see it in a different light with a new IP (Splatoon) and even if ti doesn't cathc it was their idea and they tried it.

So every E3 I come excited about the Nintendo conference and get out exceited for the new things to come. Because Nintendo is in my heart, and they now to be their thing. So yes nintendo won for me, but that is because of my love and perspective on games and gaming industry. Not that the otehr are bad, this is just how I feel. Nintendo not for you? Well, I don't mind. But I will have my Zeldas, Marios and Splatoons and love every second of it. There is no objective winner, but a company has my heart.

For reactions like this Editorial http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/conferences/e32014/11680-Editorial-Nintendos-E3-Showing-is-Refreshingly-Fun is why I think that Nintendo wins every year.

I think Nintendo were pretty good, but not good enough to make me want a Wii U.

Microsoft impressed me because they didn't seem like the jackasses that they did last year. I'm actually feeling glad I have an Xbone at the moment, though I'm not sure exactly why that is. Might have had something to do with the Witcher 3.

As for Sony's, well, nothing really grabbed me. The whole 'exclusive content, crossovers and beta access' is something that I find hard to believe actually sells consoles (along the same line I get the feeling that the average CoD player won't give a fuck that DLC for AW will hit the Xbox first).

At the moment I'm voting MS and Nintendo. But hey, two days to go, let's see what people pull out of their arses.

Excellent choice of Simpsons clip! XD I get that sports are one of EA's big specialties, but for someone who doesn't care about sports games, it was so boring. And I certainly did not need to see the EA office where some guys are promising me some games will be made soon.

OT: For me it was Nintendo. I'll admit to my fanboyism, but looking at the current poll results, looks like most people agree. They had a sense of fun and earnestness that felt great to watch. That being said, I thought Sony and Microsoft had good showings. Microsoft focusing purely on games was quite refreshing.

From what I heard the demo that Bloodborne had wasn't running at a decent framerate on the hardware they had available at E3 so they opted not to show gameplay until they fix that. I guess they figured better a CGI trailer that shows off the basic concept of the game rather than gameplay that has stuttering and framerate issues.

Still, despite the lack of gameplay at E3 I'm pretty pumped for Bloodborne, especially since the trailer did look fantastic, and because there was already some gameplay shown back when it was still only known as "Project Beast."

Accidentally voted for Nintendo and Sony instead of Nintendo and Microsoft (although in fairness I didn't watch Sony's and I skipped through all the crap on MS's). Microsoft showed some really interesting games but they lose points for them merely being "first on Xbox" and of course the Conker slap. Actually, fuck Microsoft. Nintendo all the way.
