Microsoft was basically useless.
Sunset Overdrive was the only exclusive they had that was worth a damn, and then the rest of the worthwhile stuff was multiplatform.
None of it was new or surprising.
Still, a 1000% improvement over last year, so that's something.

Sony did pretty damn good....aside from the inexplicably ultra dull bit in the middle.
Some cool new stuff.
Plenty of cool exclusives.
Nothing overly mindblowing or impressive though.

Nintendo was just a runaway train of fucking awesomeness.
They showed off/announced pretty much everything anyone wants from them, except a new Metroid and a new F-Zero.
They just knocked it clear out of the park.

Ubisoft did decently.
Assassin's Creed Unity was....awesome.
Far Cry 4 was fairly cool.
Everything else...*shrug*
Wish Aisha Tyler would stop getting invited to these things. Archer makes me like her, and E3 makes me hate her.

EA was just boring and dumb.

In my opinion, Microsoft and Sony were both treading water at this event. They didn't do anything really bad, other than a few too many cinematic trailers from Microsoft, and a bit too much non-game talk from Sony. Nothing from either company made me really excited (except for Grim Fandago rerelease, because I really want to play that game), but I'm sure some stuff shown really excited some people.

I didn't watch Ubisoft's conference, because I don't care about any Ubisoft game except Rocksmith, and it seems I didn't miss much. EA's conference though was really terrible. I was actually looking forward to EA's conference, as I wanted to know more about the new Battlefront, Mass Effect, and Mirror's Edge games. Except with Battlefront and Mass Effect they just told us these games exist, and with Mirror's edge they showed footage from a 'conceptual prototype' (aka, this is what the game might look like). The only thing I liked about that show was the Battlefield Hardline beta announcement (which I got into and have been having some fun with), but even then, we learned more about the game from the leaked trailer a few weeks ago then we learned at E3. Overall a disappointing showing from EA.

Nintendo however, has been doing a fantastic job this year. I was a bit hesitant at another Nintendo Direct, as last year's was pretty boring, but boy was I wrong. The Direct was funny, interesting, and had a bunch of announcements, most of witch with gameplay. It was by far the most entertaining showing at E3 this year.

But where Nintendo has been really excelling has been in their community interaction throughout the show. The "Treehouse at E3" stream has been a great way to see gameplay of various titles that Nintendo is showing off, and is pretty entertaining to watch. I also like how they are spacing announcements throughout the week (Like the Pac-man in smash bros), which helps keep the interest up. Finally, the Super Smash Bros. Invitational was a blast, and has made me even more excited for the new Smash Bros. (which I didn't think was possible). It was probably the best possible way to show off their biggest title, and anyone who hasn't watched it should really check it out.

So yeah, Nintendo wins E3 due to strong fan interaction outside of the press conference. Well done.

Nintendo crushed E3. They had the only presentation where I felt like they were speaking only to gamers, not to a boardroom full of potential investors. They announced a wide variety of game and showed off a bunch of gameplay, all with some genuinely funny, self-aware humor. They put on a show, not a power point presentation, so to speak.

I couldn't remember the last time I watched an entire E3 presentation, but they had my full and undivided attention. Bravo Nintendo.

And they're still not done with their announcements. Project S.T.E.A.M. was announced just a few hours ago. Not to mention the Smash Invitational and Treehouse Directs, which elevated their performance even further in my eyes. Seriously, those Treehouse Directs are nothing but gameplay (and good ones at that) as well as developer interviews and people just having fun.

I would say Nintendo... only because they had the only presentation I didn't feel like fast-forwarding through at least once...

Judging solely from the Escapist's editorial I would say Sony, with a side of Nintendo (and Ubisoft).

Nintendo won hands down, by virtue of having a good show rather than an absolutely garbage show like the other two. And I say that as someone who's been downing the Sony and PC juice for years now. I might actually have to get a Wii U now.

So as things stand at the moment...

71.8% of people think Nintendo had one of the best shows
31.9% of people think Sony had one of the best shows
18.5% of people think Microsoft had one of the best shows

I'd say those numbers give us a pretty conclusive ranking.

Well thanks to time constraints/other commitments I only got to watch the Nintendo and Microsoft conferences(and not even live.First world problems ahoy)so I couldn't really say who won overall but of the 2 I watched I'd say Nintendo had the better show

MS didn't do a whole lot wrong and it was a definite improvement on previous years with the focus being 100% on games rather than Kinect or entertainment apps.Problem was about half of what they showed were multiplatform games and of the rest nothing really made me want to rush out and buy a One

Nintendo on the other hand showed stuff that actually interested me and made me glad that I own a Wii U

For me, Sony won. Nintendo's presentation wasn't lacking though. The games I am most excited for though are Rainbow Six: Siege, The Order, Zelda Wii-U, and Bloodborne. However, Sony did some cooler stuff in addition. Exclusive IP LittleBigPlanet now offers new types of sackboys with different natural abilities. I don't play party games much anymore but I thought that was a good addition to the IP. InFamous Second Son came out with stand-alone DLC... a unique business model offering what looks like a female protagonist for InFamous. I have no idea how No Man's Sky looked seamless. Adding tech to Zelad seems interesting and pretty awesome even if it is magical tech. I like how Bayonetta took advantage of the Nintendo umbrella for parody's sake. I know I will end up with both a Wii-U and PS4 now. Ultimately, Sony has me more invested in them because of E3, I am willing to gamble on the Wii-U for an open world Zelda game. I will buy more than that but that weighs heaviest right now. Naughty Dog really has me worried with Uncharted 4 going all 'dark'. It makes me honestly hope they kill Nathan and/or Sully. (Probably Sully - calling it now.) But I love that Uncharted 1-3 are colorful and don't like the dark atmosphere. I've probably just seen it too much lately.

Thanks to me being uninterested in console shooting games this pretty much only leaves Nintendo.

I'm a massive Nintendo fan and I liked their conference...but I don't understand why so many people LOVED it, where was the 3rd party support?! Why did they talk about Yoshi for so long? Why are they making a whole game out of the captain Toad levels from SM3DW? Why are they doing an HD version of Kirby Power Paintbrush? Why did Miyamoto troll us with Star Fox? (they had a demo that he was playing, at least let us see it!!!) I mean I really loved the Smash Bros invitational tournament and the showings for Hyrule Warriors, Zelda U, Splatoon and all that and I especially loved the Robot Chicken moments and the Reggie vs Iwata fight, but I don't think Nintendo showed off enough games, and in some cases I don't think they showed off the right games, the sort of games to draw in an audience from the other consoles.

Meanwhile, all Sony & Microsoft had to do was sit back and let the 3rd parties show off their games, and that's all they really did bar some amazing announcements like Halo Master Chief Collection.

So, in my honest opinion all three companies had a great showing, but Nintendo seems to be getting the biggest positive response from gamers which is nice for once.

How come that nobody is giving Sony the shitstorm about this whole TV-Multimedia / Free2play stuff???
Microsoft was bashed very much last year (although the camera at playstation is not mandatory)

Personally I think Nintendo won of the big three, because they showed in-game footage
(Fable doesn't count, the series jumped the shark long ago and I am not into shooters)

Otherwise I consider Ubisoft the winner, even if I would have loved to see more Indie Titles
(MOAR Ubi-Art Engine games !!!)

Going by the bandwagon, Nintendo obviously.
Going by my own heart, nobody. I didn't care enough to watch most of the presentations.

I'd say for me it was a tie between Sony and Nintendo.

Nintendo had the better presentation, but I got more hype boners over the games Sony was showing than Nintendo's offerings.

The only 2 Nintendo games I was interested in were Bayonetta and the new Zelda game. For Sony on the other hand I had huge hype boners for No Man's Sky and Bloodborne, and was pretty excited for Uncharted 4 and Batman Arkham Knight (yes, I know that's multiplatform, but Sony was the one showing it off).

So yeah, Nintendo nailed their presentation by showing gameplay for pretty much all their games, and having their presentation take less than an hour. Sony had kind of a crappy presentation (no Sony, none of us want to see smug guys in suits talk for 40 minutes about your profit margins and how great free to play games are), but had more games that interested me.

Nintendo by a country mile.

I haven't heard a peep about what Microsoft has shown outside of Sunset Overdrive. Sony has their Dark Souls thing, and a new Uncharted, but outside of that I haven't heard much either.

On the other hand every bit of Nintendo news I hear appears to be pure fucking gold. Exclusives out the ass, and the new Smash Bros game is looking better every second. I don't see the point in buying Sony or Microsoft's consoles when I'm a PC gamer atm and can get a majority of the titles on my current platform - but Nintendo has a lot of well-made franchise games and I haven't owned a system of theirs yet so I've got a respectable backlog built up if I were to go for all the Wii, Wii U, and downloadable titles they've got.
