Like Rogue Squadron. Factor 5 needs to put Lair firmly behind it and prove that they can still make great games.


Personally, I think Kid Icarus is due for a license revival. Fanboys have been so sure that it's coming back ever since the Wii debuted, but I think at some point, Nintendo would have mentioned it in the last 2 years. Especially since all Nintendo has been able to show at E3, TGS, Leipzig, etc is fucking Wii Music. Or Shawn White looking like a tool on balance board.

I have to say, I've found lightsaberless (at least for the player) star wars games to be pretty fun in the past.

Tie Fighter was great fun. Also, it's almost criminal that they're not making a Republic Commando 2. That game had an interesting new take on the star wars universe, something that is all too rare. Seriously, I'd love to see an "Imperial Commando", where you hunt down dissidents, or even a somewhat more cliche game where you either aidn't follow order 66, or b:Betray the empire later. If they had you end up betraying the empire, it could probably be done with the reappearance of Sev. Though I'd imagine that he'd be the one who'd most enjoy being an imperial commando.

I went with Jedi Outcast, but another Tie Fighter would be a welcomed surprise. The Force Unleashed really frustrated me because of it's canned lightsaber animations. Imagine a new Jedi Knight game with Force Unleashed tech.

back to the poll though, none of them should be brought back, they would just be ruined by todays game Manufacturers.

I still say you can consider the Yakuza series to effectively be the spiritual successor to Shenmue, as Sega are making it, its an open world game with a great fist combat system, set in a detailed Japanese city.....

Both 1 and 2 are on the ps2 and released now, so theres really no reason to not have it. I admit, I've never played Shenmue, so maybe I can't comment, but from what i hear, it sounds pretty much the same.

A good point, but I think alot of people wanting Shenmue's return want to see what happens. I know you haven't played it, so let me tell you, the game ends abruptly on a big cliffhanger. The gameplay was enjoyable but that's not what I miss about the game the most.

I voted SW games without lightsabers, partially because most of those others I haven't really gotten into (played Vagrant Story, didn't appeal) and partially because of one kind of SW game in mind: A Wraith Squadron stealth game. These guys are my favorite characters and stories in the entire expanded universe and there's not a lightsaber among them unless you count Tyria Sarkin's budding powers. OTOH, between The Clone Wars and The Force Unleashed Star Wars has been milked quite a lot (read: even moreso than usual) lately. A more likely candidate for that list would be Parasite Eve, they just need to spruce up the combat for this century.

I voted for the Jedi Outcast series (although I would have called it the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series.) Some of my fondest gaming memories come from those games, all the way back to the original Dark Forces but especially DFII:Jedi Knight.

Pretty much this. Although I would also like to see another Tie Fighter/X-Wing game.
