Poll: Which on-scene emergency service would you most like to be?

Personally, I'm taking criminology in university, and after that I plan on going into a police academy, so my choice is pretty obvious. I do sometimes wonder about becoming a paramedic or firefighter, but I've wanted to be a police officer my whole life. I was wondering what most people would prefer doing themselves.

Paramedic.

I've been trained in basic first aid and resuscitation since I was about 10. Military trained me as medic sergeant. And I like what I've learned so far.

Not really. A couple weeks back an ambulance was hit by a car as it was going through an intersection and the three man crew needed to be taken to hospital themselves. And you don't think trying to strap down someone on a bad drug trip is going to play nice just because you're a paramedic?

But having said that, I would probably be a paramedic so.

Racing around fighting fires on a daily basis?
Sorting out trouble-makers and chasing cars at high speeds?
Racing around to help people?

The paramedic, as a whole, contains less risk because your working in a very enclosed area, your not generally fighting anything potentially dangerous and you least likely to get attacked by idiotic members of the public.

But yeah, cop. I like the idea of taking down baddies.
I'd consider becoming one, if I didn't know the whole system is corrupt and full of idiots.

I did want to be a cop when I was younger but now I'm training to be a doctor so I'm going to say...firefighter but no seriously a paramedic.

In terms of the most dangerous, I'd have to say it is a cop. It isn't that firefighting isn't amazingly dangerous, but it's the fact that cops have to deal with people who actually have intent to harm and commit crime versus fire which I'm quite sure doesn't have the mental capacity to want to cause harm...

The way I see it is this.
Paramedic - look after drunk people all night.
Police - look after drunk people all night.
Fire fighter - Dangerous but probably rewarding.
Definately going with fireman.
