I chose them both because,

1.Both were developed by Bethesda Game Studios.
2.One is set in medieval times and another in 2277.
3.One uses swords, bows while another uses laser guns.

It didn't vote because it is the equivalent of saying do you like SotC or Pacman. They are both great for their time and have comletely different story/gameplay.

You know what's so pathetic about me? I couldn't play it the first time because I was too afraid of the giant ants. I know, I know. The giant spiders in DA:O also scare me. But they don't scare me from playing an awesome game anymore.

its a hard choice, i admire more the oblivion modding system since it uses a less complexe engine makeing it easyer to mod

I'd have to go with Oblivion since it's a game I first got on the PC that shortly thereafter joined me when I bought an Xbox pack with controller, Oblivion and other games.

So far, I haven't come around to test Fallout 3. The games cost :(

And that, is exactly why I put them up for voting. I thought it would be easier to vote two similar but also different games.

Remember, I asked which one you prefer, not which one is better.

Overdone thread is seriously overdone.

OT: Fallout 3. I preferred the setting and environments. I'm not a big fan of fantasy style games. Post apocalyptic sci-fi is something I prefer.

Oblivion.

God, who knows how many hours I sunk into that game. Easily more than 150.

Fallout 3 was fun, for a little while, but it got old really fast. The setting is so dull and drab it killed most of the wonder after about twenty minutes, anyways.

Fallout 3 also had a sickening lack of content that was a bit depressing.

I used the search engine. I only saw one. Will it kill you? It's not like it's a thread about how MW2 is the king of shooters.

Both games are good with excellent story and game-play but I like Oblivion more just because of where it takes place. The houses in Oblivion look really cozy and I find myself wanting to own a home just like one. I always kind of had a desire to like fantasy type settings and places.

A no brainer for me, Oblivion. Fallout had the better setting but I did tire of all the grey and I really didn't like the leveling system or level cap from Fallout.

Agreed I've always wanted to be an owner of the Merchant Inn in Imperial City. At night all the merchants goes to the inn, it's kind of fun, for me.

Oblivion.

It doesn't shove Small Guns, Lockpicking, and Science down your throat. It does encourage Melee, though. :)

That game actively hates players who don't take those skills...At least for the first few hours. PEW PEW goes the pathetic Laser Pistol from Super Duper Mart.

I prefered Oblivion. I enjoyed having scenerey that wasn't completely colored dystopian grey and brown. I didn't like enemies that could snipe me with mini guns and the only way I could hit something was by using VATS which didn't take alot skill and got quite repetitive. I also found that Oblivion just felt alot more epic, with all the mountains and the sky in Shivering Isles. I never really got the epic feeling in Fallout 3, except the bit with the giant robot, everything just felt too samey.

Fallout 3, by far. In fact, since getting Fallout 3, I can't play Oblivion any more. It's just been outclassed, in my opinion.

The combat in Fallout 3 is better, the story, the setting, the acting, the graphics (no more insane bloom), even the music. It's a great improvement. Oblivion was brilliant for its time, but now, its allure has worn off somewhat.
Quoted for truth.

I agree completely, and thus have nothing more to add.

I'll admit though, I've never loved an Oblivion weapon as much as the Lincoln Repeater.
