So I just finished Saints Row the third (Great game) and was wondering, for saints row 4 (which has apparently already been announced) Which ending do you think will be considered canon by volition?

A: Killing killbane and making steelport a city state

OR

B: Saving Shaundi, the mayor and that other girl who's name I know I can't spell.

I personally think that making steelport a city state is what Volition will choose. (as much as it pains me to see Shaundi and Burt Fucking Reynolds die)

Why?

Because in all honesty despite it being a bittersweet ending it had a more saints feel to it. Plus I could see the whole having your own nation thing really being fun in the next game.

What is your opinion on the matter?

I hope to fucking god it is the saving Shaundi and Viola one. I'd rather not have to deal with losing
Gat
and her.

Killing Killbane!

Saint's Row the Fourth can end with Saints Nation.

Edit: If they pick that ending, you'll even get your own flying aircraft carrier courtesy of Kinzie.

If Red Faction canon is part of Saint's Row canon than it was make sense for Steelport to become it's own city-state. The Saint's own Ultor after all and I don't see how else Ultor could have got to the position they were in since they basically became the owners of Mars. I'm guessing it's ending A.

Umm, I need a hero is playing when you have to make the choice, there is nothing more epic than you running up the tower like a mad man doing DDTs and jump kicking people in the face while that song is playing in the background.

Even then, I really don't see story wise why you would want to kill Killbane, you forgave Viola and let her join the Saints, you let Matt go, and the dude directly responsible for Johnny's death died early in the game. All kill bane did was fuck up the funeral a bit. I still don't get why Oleg and Angel want you to off kill Bane, it makes no sense especially if you take Killbane's mask during the match.
Hell you're even able to forgive Birtch and let him into the crew.

Even then the ending for saving Shaundi and Viola is "Gangsters in Space" which happens to be the same name as the next DLC missions.

Also for those wanting it to be the Killbane ending...realize this leaves Pierce as a main character....

Why am I the only person who actually likes Pierce? Everyone hates on him so much...

Anyway, Killbane took over the Syndicate's assets, and the Syndicate was a global gang. He had an immense amount of power as the head of the Syndicate. With him dead, it basically dissolved (All of the high ranking members were killed or left). With him still alive, he could just rally and come back for the Saints once he's gathered enough force. But it's more of a book ends type thing. The game started with the Syndicate and if you kill Killbane, it ends with the Syndicate's destruction (And technically avenging Gat's death).

'Holding out for a Hero' did make it extremely difficult to not go for Shaundi and Viola, though.

I seriously see the ending where you save Magnarac Island and Shaudi/Viola being canon. Why?

Because the talk you have with Cyrus in the ending video before "Gangsta's in Space" implies "Im not done with you guys yet."

whichever ending ties in to ultor owning mars... after all... if it does tie in to red faction... which it looks very solidly too... probably the citystate thing...

I say it's saving Shaundi. Ultor runs Mars in Red Faction because Earth is to far away to oversee them. Notice that when Earth does become aware of what Ultor is doing, it becomes bad news for the former-clothing-store Empire.

Besides, I could never let down Burt Reynolds.

Yeah, the new direction of Shaundi feels too different, she's almost a completely different character.

Pierce is the ***** of the team, every good team has a *****. They can be completely likeable or be useful or whatever, but they're the one who isn't as good at verbal swordplay, so they're the butt of most jokes. Volition understands this, hence the "who gives a [age appropriate content] about Pierce?" in the opening scene.

It's impossible to say really, but I'd like it to be the second ending. Mostly because I like all the friendships that the boss has built up being the gang leader. And Viola seemed like a really cool character, so I'd like to see some more of her.
Either way though, I read somewhere on the Saints Row the Third forums that they're making an extention DLC which will tie up the endings for the fourth game. So presumably the option that you didn't pick gets fulfilled in the same way to make it all canon.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

...Sorry, gut reaction. Though I love Pierce as a comic relief sidekick, I can't stand him in missions (his AI seems dumber than the rest of the game's, and I assume it's on purpose) and the thought of him being the lead is....

I think I'm gonna hyperventilate.

I'm not sure I believe that. Then again, remember when Corporate Warfare was supposed to bridge Saints Row 2 and 3? They don't even mention Dex in this game far as I know.

Yeah I always thought STAG was going to be led by Dex. Evidently not.

I saved Viola, Shaundi was saved by inertia... Badass Shaundi is not as good as SSS was (Stoned Slut Shaundi)

I haven't tried going after killbane yet, I decided to make a new char for that choice and revert every choice I made.

Yeah, but the big difference is of course that they now have to tie up the divergence at the end for the fourth game. I hope they don't start over with new characters, because the fact that you're part of a close-knit gang is what makes the Saints so interesting. In fact, one of the main reasons I wanted to play this game was because I wanted to see some more of Johnny Gat back in action (that worked out great). So if they start with new characters I might just not care enough to buy it.
