They're a bit too different to really compare to be honest, action has little in common with RPG.

Versus threads are frowned upon.

If I was gonna judge though, I'd have to say they've both become equally shit. But with high points only? Final Fantasy wins with 7,8, and 10.

MGS loses with only 1 and 3.
Buddy, lets not forget 6.

Really depends on your taste. Though I personally prefer MGS as opposed to JRPG's in general, there are some people who can't handle the sneaky stealth gameplay.
sorry dude, but the thief series is the only ones who got the sneaky stealth gameplay thing right. MGS is a shooter game with stealth elements.
Considering that the question was between Metal Gear solid of Final fantasy, I would say that mention of anything else is irrelevant.

That's like comparing apples and oranges.
They are both VASTLY different series. Hell, they aren't even in the same GENRE.

One is a fantasy RPG, and every game in the series is a disconnected story from the rest.
The other is a tactical-espionage thriller with a long, and absurdly complex, storyline that spans the course of several games.

I don't see the similarities, do you?
In fact, the only thing I'd say they have in common is simply the fact that they're both Japanese games, and if we're going to use that, then why don't we compare them both to Mario while we're at it?

Having not played six, I can't really comment I'm afraid.

I must play some time.

I can't awnser that one.....
both movies have to much idea's and not enough user-friendlyness.
I prefer the Bioware games when it comes to story

But if I had to choose I would say MGS because the movie still has value even if you did not read that whole encyclopedia.
sorry for the spelling.
I think you're confusing "game" with "trendy hate label".

Its a great game. I'd say the best but... whatever.

I'm sure you can play it with an emulator. Definately check it out.

Being an MGS fanboy and only having played FFX, I will say MGS.

MGS is firstly a series, FF is loads of different games with the same name and an increasingly bigger number (with the odd exception).

I think I am right in saying MGS was very inventive, giving us such things as locking onto a wall to peak round and shoot and all the games have been beautiful for there time (hell, MGS3 still is a stunning looking game).

MGS is my fav series of all time but my second fav game of all time is FFX.

How can you even compare the two? They're not even similar enough in genre to try :(
I'd go with FF though, since it's one of my favorite series.
