In certain multiplayer games you sometimes have to pick a team which might be a nationality like in Red orchestra (German or Russian) or a color like in Team fortress 2 (Red or blue). In certain games it seems like one team is more popular then the other. So I'm a bit curious, how do you guys pick which team to join during a multiplayer match?

Personally I usually pick the team with the least number of players when I join. Or if available I simply click the "random" button. Which is hopefully the team that needs my help the most.

The only multiplayer games I have ever played formed the teams for you. I never had the option to choose (that's why I put other)

I always join the team with the least players to even the game up.As what is the point of playing if your just gunna join the winning team all the time you have to lose sometimes people.

Usually just random, but if the maps are asymetrical then I pick the one with the better spawn. Tends to make things a little less frustrating, at least to start.

I usually pick the team that's going to face the most challenge. Also if I'm playing Red Orchestra or Darkest Hour and a trench-defense map comes up I will always try to get on the attacking team, I really hate defending trenches, it bores the living daylights out of me.

Most games I just pick random, usually placing me in the team with the fewest players. However, if it's TF2, I always choose blue.

I just play with the team I'm randomly assigned to. If I've got friends on the game I'll try and join their team though.

The team with the most talkative people.

I like teams who communicate. And even if they're not talking tactics, I find it nice to have people chatting in my ear while I play. Unless those people are arseholes, but that's a whole other matter.

Always pick a random team, either that or just keep the team I'm placed into at the start.
Not really one for team chat either, mainly because I cant hear a thing over my music.

I like to play mutliplayer games with people I know, which is why I usually play games on servers I'm familiar with, so I join the team that has the greatest number of people I like.

Most of the time, I really don't care, the exceptions being Gears of War (COG), Team Fortress 2 (RED) and Counter-Strike (Counter-Terrorists.)

I only play PvE now, but I used to select the team with friend (clan) mates on it. A good game like TF2 will shuffle the teams if they're uneven. Poorly designed games encourage stacking, and are unworthy of the attention.

Depends.

If i'm playing with friends, i get on the team they're on/the team where there's roomf or us as a team.
If i'm playing alone, and theres a difference between the teams, save cosmetic/names, like different weapons, different spawn-zones (non-symetrical maps) differents objectives etc i go for what i prefer of the differences.
IF theres no real difference, i auto-assign, not caring to check who's winning/loosing.
