Poll: Which version of Battletoads (NES) should I play?

After watching Shinya "The Kacho" Arino, I'm getting urges to take the Battletoads challenge.
So I'm wondering if I should play the American version for being born in the USA (and to be more legitimate), or play the Japanese version for being a little easier and not deal with such cheap tactics for too long, so I can get on with my life faster, since I should be learning Flash, GameMaker or just be DOING SCHOOLWORK! I think I'll wait until summer or winter break, actually.

We could also talk about cheap difficulty or something.

...I dont know! Maybe someone is patriotic and wants to give a bad answer. Or maybe the slower output allows for slower reaction times. I'll not be going after the Euro version.

If you do the easier version, you won't feel fulfilled and will end up doing the hardest one eventually anyway.

Plus, it's Battletoads. Meant to hard.
