Poll: Which warhammer 40k race should i be?

title said it all, narrowed down my choice between these 3 races, leaving it up to y'all to make my final choice.

Tau. I used to play the tabletop as them.

Tau or Guard. Hunters are dull, very dull.

Go for the Imperial Guard. Nothing like putting 200+ models on the table in one 1500 point game. True its a pain in the arse to set up and pack away but its well worth it. Painting them however may take a few months XD (I've had mine for over a year and i still haven't finished painting them)

I really like the story behind the guards and the tau, but the look and feel of the hunters is really bad-ass.

If you can stand to paint all the models, go for the Imperial Guard. They can build balanced armies far easier than Tau, they are (in my opinion) far more interesting than Daemonhunters and they do pack quite a punch with a well-built army.

Of the three, I'd say Tau are probably the most interesting to use, but on behalf of my Dark Eldar I must ask, ever considered "Renegade Tau"? Screw the greater good I fight for my self? Indulge in excess, forget the empire? No?

Oh well...

If Space Marines are out of the question, the definitely Imperial Guard. Putting aside that they're just plain awesome (40K is one of the very very few games where I prefer humies), they are versatile and balanced.

I would reccomend the Guard personally, after all, no matter how big and scary the other guys may be there isn't anything in the universe that can't be taken out by throwing wave upon wave of men at it.

Grey knights are too cool to miss! the terminators our some of the best looking minitures they do! or you could just take Guard and wack a squad of them in your army.

Tau are the absolute bomb. Having said that, Imperial Guard have some awesome tactical options up their sleeves (not to mention some BIIIG guns)...

If you don't know which you want, I am guessing you don't know them well enough. I would have to recommend Space Marine ta get started in the wonderful worlds of 40k

Since you only have the 3 choices, and don't say much about your likes or dislikes, I would say
Imperial Guard.

Stay safe inside a tank till you realize which of the other races you like better.

See i have been reading up on all the races for about a week now. The more i read into the races, the more i realize that i like the Guards tactics of waves upon waves of weak men. But i also am in love with the idea that the tau want to bring the whole galaxy under one unified banner, i only put up the hunters because i also like there crusader like attitude and the fact that they look bad ass.

The guard are very intriguing because they are so weak as individuals yet their numbers can make up for almost any weakness of said individual. But on the other hand the tau are a smallish empire who seem to be on the cutting edge of technology. and they seem to be fighting a desperate struggle to keep their empire from collapsing from the assaults of the space marines, the guard, and the tyranids that are quite close to their borders.

All in all both races appeal to my personal ideals, just wanted to see what yall escapists felt about these races

Seeing how i dont really know much about the unit power and what not, Are the tau tanks comparable to the guards tanks?

The Imperial guard is a good choice. They have a vast amount of options. They also sport some pretty decent tanks.
