I know 4 has only just been remade for both GBA and DS, but that isn't the same as playing it on a television screen. I especially want to hear the old guy talking about a spoony bard.
I think the problem with FFIV is that it's too short. I played through the DS version I think a year or two ago, and it only takes 10 - 15 hours to finish. Maybe if it was presented in a compilation of the first four games?

Although I'd like to see the return of being able to switch characters and that optional dungeon they had in the GBA remake, along with the two superbosses in the DS version.

None, why don't they make a new fucking game instead of just re-hashes and such.

New content, if you already like a game why does it need shinning up? Are some gamers that shallow?

I'd really like FF7 remake and a really close second is FF9 remake.

Why don't you just play all the pretty spin offs then?
Just because you want to experience one of your favourite games in a more modern representation doesnt make you shallow. If you refused to play the game untill someone DID upgrade it would make you shallow. Anyway from the looks of it a LOT of gamers are not liking the latest FF, maybe they need a time out :p

OT id quite like to see 7 remade, from the looks of it theyv been building up to it anyway -.-
I just think remakes are a waste of time and resources. It's been done, change the mechanic of the game it's not longer what it was. And we all know they would rework the story of FF7 to try work in all the plot holey mess of spin offs they have made based on it.

None. If you want to play the game for nostalgias sake, go play the original, as that is where the nostalgia stems from.

I'd rather companys spend their time making new games, trying new ideas. Even if I don't like the outcome. The old Final Fantasy's may have been technologically great at the time, but time hasn't been good to them. I've found myself unable to replay Final Fantasy VII for quite a few years now. Maybe remaking them would make them more now friendly, but to truely do that, it would require time and effort I don't think SE would be willing to give.

VII and IX. Both games had great moments, characters, music and overall gameplay. Even though I enjoy FFXIII I'd pick a remake of either of these two old games over it any day.

None. I would rather see something new.
You know we're talking about Square-Enix here, right? Last "new" game they made was Final Fantasy 13, which was one of the worst experiences of my life. I'd much rather see them focus on nothing but HD remakes from here on out...it's the only way they'll ever release anything decent again.
I do indeed, and when I said 'new', I meant it, without irony, without inverted commas. ;) They did it before, and I am sure that deep in their little hearts, there is more where that came from. Let's hope so, because remakes would just spoil the magic of nostaligic memory.

FF9, it's by far my favourite. I want Vivi in HD!
Exactly what I was going to say.

It would have been a dream come true.
I third that opinion.
Plus, I wouldn't mind a more polygonal version of Amarant Coral and Freya Crscent (maybe the possibility of a clear in-game view of her face?)

And while they're at it, since they would be able to fit it all on one BD, they should remove the 'earthquake' from the fourth disc that prevents you from entering half of the old cities/dungeons...
(Oeilvert, Pinnacle Rocks, Conde Petie, Desert Castle, Mount Gulug, Fossil Roo, Esto Gaza, ...)

My only fear is that they would ruin it (also, I don't see how you could bring the magic alive without the use of Pre-renderend CG-backgrounds - Cleyra, anyone?)

I say none of them since remakes just don't seem to work that well with Final Fantasy.
The problem with remakes is that you see a game that was originally in lego format become super-realistic and you wind up feeling like a 24 year old who blows his paycheck at Hot Topic. People need to be able to let go. I'm sure if Adventure of Link was remade with Twilight Princess graphics, that it would be an incredibly huge letdown.

That's why I'm rooting for a remake of 4, I think it could become so much more.

This.

I want them to look back at what made them good and try and recapture that magic for a new title.

Nostalgia is part of the reason people like old games so much, and remakes kill nostalgia. So therefore it is only logical that remakes are a letdown. You are right. People should let go.
