Of the people who had press conference, which were Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, and EA (please note if I missed one, I wasn't sure if Konami was having a press conference after the disaster of 2010's, nor could I find anyone covering it if does exist) which one did you guys think was the best presentation. Not the one with the games, new features, and console your the most excited about, but who was the best at presenting their games, features and consoles. Which presentation made you more excited about what was shown, make you want to buy the games announced, and who made you want to keep watching for an hour because you were enjoying yourself?

For me, I thought Sony's was the best. While they didn't bring out Kevin Butler, they did keep their presentation of games more varied than the competition, making sure each showing of a game was exciting and each one got attention they deserved. They also were pushing that they were the console for new gaming experiences, showcasing things such as the Assassin Creed ship battles, putting Beyond the very first thing on the show, and ending with the Last Ones. The announcer was likable, sounding like he understood the current gaming community better than the announcers for the other press conferences. The tone was a lot friendlier than the others, thanking them the people for coming and giving out the one year Playstation plus, which I thought was a nice way gift, as well as a clever way to get the press to speak of Playstation plus's graces.

It did have it's flaws. While the people playing onstage didn't really sell that they were playing the games, at least they put some effort into it. The "Spell Book" demonstration was pretty terrible as well.

However, overall they kept the presentation moving at a good beat and kept it interesting throughout. It actually made me want to get a PS3, a little bit anyway.

Optional: Who did you think had the worst presentation of the five? Who did you think ruined your chances of buying their games, or made you want to exit out of the stream due to anger or boredom?

I felt the worse was Microsoft. The rather smaller selection of games seamed to be very limited in scope (either shooters, sports, or Kinect games) while appearing to rush through them all, ofter jamming the trailer for one game in front of another with giving many details about either. What little was seen of the actual games was dull, cliche, and made the games look like every other game released in the last 6 years, with slaps to the face with contradictions of canon and tone of the games (why is Master Chief fighting Elites again? Why is Sam Fisher in a desert mowing through bad guys in the least stealthiest manner possible? Why is a the trailer for Gears set to metal instead of slower, somber music?) Microsoft seamed desperate to get to three things out at the cost for the games: trying to sell the Kinect, trying to sell their new phone connectiviy, and Usher. Oh god was the Ursher performance bad on so many levels. The announcer was annoying (the constant use of "Xbox" without 360, and treating it as if they worked at "Xbox" and not at Microsoft got old very fast), arrogant (all but saying that you will experience the second coming if you own an "Xbox"), boring, and a liar ("Only GREAT games are on Xbox"). It felt like he was reading transcript written by a man who regard the audience as idiots. The entire thing was set up just like last year's one, with Halo 4 replacing CoD as the opener (it still managed to be the closer, formatted the exact same way as last year's showing of CoD, and year before that...) and some Kinect moved out of the way to gush over TV deals, sports, and the smart phone deals.

It did have it's upsides though, or should I say, upside. The phone connectivity got me interested for a bit, promising to upend the WiiU without having to buy any new devices (well, I would need to buy both an Xbox 360 and a smart phone, but that is besides the point).

All and all though, it was a disaster. One of the worst showings from one of the big three I have seen in years. Nowhere near the level of Konami's 2010's press conference, but still very bad.

I went with Ubisoft, mostly because Watch Dogs came out of nowhere and, in my opinion, totally stole the show. I'll admit it, I was watching Ubi's conference so I could finally see AC3 gameplay footage, but once they demoed Watch Dogs, it became the #1 game on my radar.

It is such an exciting concept for a game.

Ubisoft. Followed by Nintendo (While they did do casual games at least they were games unlike Sony spending 20 minutes on a fucking book)

Microsoft. Their presenters were by far the most enthusiastic and genuine, they had tons of new IPs, and I can't wait to use their smartglass project.

Yeah, in all seriousness it was Ubisoft. AC3 looks absolutely amazing, and Watch Dogs looks almost as good.

Ubi gets my vote because they have the only games I am interested in Assassin's Creed 3 and now Watch Dogs, Finally a game set in Chicago(My home town), and it sounds pretty cool.

I gotta go with Sony, but Ubisoft is a very close follow-up.

It seems that I am going to game a lot on my PS3 in the coming future.

... still waiting for anything HL3/Ep3-related...

Ubisoft - Pretty Good. Entertaining hosts, plenty of games, nice suprise at the end.

Sony - Wonderbook sucked, they apparently forgot the Vita even existed, but solid lineup of games for PS3. Decent job I guess.

Nintendo - Apparently they think the killer app for the WiiU is a minigame compilation, completely failed to get me excited for their new system.

Microsoft - Forgot about the whole games thing and focused on tablets and smartphones. Complete waste of time.

EA - Sequels, DLC, and more DLC for more sequels. Boring.

Konami - Did anyone actually watch this?

Ubisoft>Sony>Nintendo>EA>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Microsoft

I chose Ubisoft, and Microsoft was second for me because of the ESPN part (I'm a big sports fan). Ubisoft was number one for me mostly because of Watch Dogs, I already know I will enjoy AC3, but Watch Dogs really surprised me. It looks like a really interesting game.

Ubisoft. Had the most interesting games with some of the least dull spots.

Nintendo at #2, because in their infinite wisdom, they're having a separate conference for the 3DS and online stuff, and while they had the most interesting games to show, they didn't show them in their actual conference (project p-100 looked fucking awesome! why wasn't that shown?)

Sony at 3, solid for the most part, spent too much time on stuff people didn't really care about like PSN Mobile and the fucking Wonderbook. Still, Beyond was awesome, and Last of Us was a good finish.

EA at #4, because fuck you for starting off talking about DLC and BF Preumium.

Microsoft in last, because when less than half your conference about your console is about games, you FAIL.

Nintendo was my favorite. The Wii U went from being a get within a month or so to needing to camp out for the damn thing. Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, ZombiU, and maybe even Project P-100 all look like a lot of fun. Plus they have the 3DS conference tomorrow as well, which I'm REALLY hoping they show off the new 3DS Zelda they've been working on.

Sony took second place thanks to The Last of Us and PlayStation All-Stars though, and Ubisoft is in third because of Watch Dogs. All three of those look like they'll be fun, and aside from All-Stars look pretty original.

Microsoft easily was last place. I actually had to turn off my TV because they absolutely bored me to tears. ONLY thing interesting that was shown was South Park: The Stick of Truth, and that isn't even a 360 exclusive. Also they do know that E3 is supposed to be about GAMES, not about how many sports things you can put on your console, right? That and the whole tablet connectivity thing screamed of trying to copy the Wii U...

Did Konami even have a press conference? I never heard anything about it. Ubisoft won hands down. They had the best games, the most games and they had their games shown in both Sony and Nintendo's conferences too. There's just no topping that.

Tie between Ubisoft and Sony. No question that Microsoft was the worst. E3's traditionally always been about videogames, and Microsoft failed to deliver. Yes, Halo 4 looked pretty, but that was pretty much it. They spent way too much time trying to push Kinect again. Hell, they actually demoed Madden '13...because people really didn't know what to expect from EA's newest $60 roster update. Also, Splinter Cell...what happened to you?

To be fair Sony had its weak points, Wonderbook was laughably bad, God of War 4 was more of the same and wasn't really all that impressive, and the Vita was forgotten outside of a couple token announcements. However, the Last of Us demo was frakking awesome.

Assassin's Creed 3/Watch Dogs pretty much overshadowed any of Ubi's shortcomings...like that eSports free to play...thing.

You may want to pay attention to what they do tomorrow then. Today's conference was supposed to be specifically for the Wii U, while tomorrow is specifically for the 3DS. There will presumably be stuff about Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 and probably some Pokemon Conquest as well. Smash Bros you might be out of luck on, since they will have only done maybe a month or two of work on it by this point.

If I have to choose, I'd say Ubisoft one this one. With Watch Dogs, AC3 and the first mention of ZombiU(though the actual reveal during the Nintendo conference was much better, having an actual trailer rather than whatever the fuck you want to call a bunch of stills strung together), they made a rather strong showing. Aisha was a huge annoyance though, as was Tobuscus. Their opening was also just terrible, starting out with Just Dance 4.

Nintendo comes in at #2, with Pikmin 3 looking awesome, the trailer for ZombiU looks amazing, the 2 mario games look uninteresting, with the 3DS one just ludicrous. The one thing Mario games don't need is an easier way to rack up more lives. Luigi's Mansion on the 3DS looks solid, as does the Paper Mario game. Nintendoland looks like an interesting collection of party games that, if released with the Wii-U like Wii sports was, will easily become just as popular. Their whole social network thing was just bad though

Sony comes in third, with their showing off of God of War: Ascension, the ship-to-ship combat in AC3, and The Last of Us looking amazing. Beyond looks interesting, and was visually stunning. The Wonderbook presentation was just painful to sit through, as was their lengthy talk of non-gaming uses for the PS3 and Vita.

I put Microsoft and EA tied dead last. Their presentations were just horrible, and sum up nicely everything wrong with gaming today. There was such an alarming disconnect between what they were talking about and what gamers want to see at E3.

I'm terribly sorry and I'm about to sound horrifically out of touch, but what happened with Konami in '10? It completely sailed under my radar.

Um? for me, the best was Ubisoft. I'm already excited for AC3, and seeing naval combat in the game was something I totally wasn't expecting but looks fun. Their other offerings look good too, and AC3Liberation is idly making me think of picking up a (used) Vita at some point.

Sony was? decent. A few good things, a few bad things. All Stars still look derivative (and Big Daddy originally was on the 360, so? what the heck, Sony?) but might be fun. Nintendo didn't interest me at all, since I don't care about the Wii U and I'm only getting a 3DS because of my Kingdom Hearts addiction.

And Microsoft and EA just? failed. Utter failure. Stuff about DLC, unwanted technology trying to cash in on the Wii U (say what you will about the Vita, but at least it's a game console on its own, not a glorified app), Kinect stuff that I don't give a toss about, and Usher. A waste of everyone's time.
