I always thought it was strange that some people tried to stop it from happening when people have seizures and the like.

I'm pretty sure that while having a seizure the tongue related danger comes from your jaw twitching, which has the potential to bite through your tongue, severing it. Of course, anyone dumb enough to actually reach into a twitching jaw is asking for trouble.

Fun fact: to prevent tongue injury during a seizure, shove your wallet into the victim's mouth, pushing the tongue back.

Well, I can touch my Uvula with my tongue but that's about it.

EDIT: Oh, that's not true. Sometimes when I yawn, I can spray liquid (either spit or water or a mix) from underneath my tongue. Sometimes even without yawning.

The thing with me doing this to be visible, is that all you'll see is a tongue going behind the uvula and up... Then some mucus on it.

Yes, I'm sure we've all seen worse things. I know I have.

And yes, I'm more than capable of putting my tongue up my nose. I personally don't like doing that though.

I've also heard that rolling a person on their side is to assist with keeping the airway clear and likely help prevent choking on vomit etc, so it might just be a combination of things
