Okay, I'm probably going to be mauled for this, but am I really the only person around here that didn't like Inception? Because it seems like everyone loves it. Except me. xD

**Spoiler warning for those who haven't seen it**

Now, the idea was good. I liked the idea of the dream world, creating it, confusing it for reality, etc. That was pretty cool. But the movie itself, I wasn't fond of.

There was no need for it to be almost three hours long and by about the time they were in the van (yes, I know, that's the "peak" of the plot), I was ready for it to end. It seemed a little vague to me in places, and maybe I just didn't catch it, but I still don't even know why they were trying to get into the safe.

So, overall, I just really didn't care for it and I don't understand the hype either. There was nothing mind-blowingly good about it.

And for the sake of curiosity, at the end, do you think he woke up or not?
For a while, I had thought that maybe he did wake up and they were just trying to be suspenseful until a friend said that his kids would've aged, and they didn't. So, now I'm leaning towards the idea that he didn't wake up. What about you?

Naw, I don't wanna maul you, and I guess I kinda agree.

But I tend to put the ideas before most other things in a movie.

I'm also very easy to please =p

"Am I the only one" threads are frowned upon in these parts, to answer your question, no, there are plenty of people who didn't like it.

I knew versus threads were, but I've never seen people have a problem with these.

In any case, then, I guess I mean the only one here on the Escapist because it seems everyone here is in love with that movie.

There really wasn't much point for Avatar to be 3 hours long and I agree, by the time they reached the 3rd dream, it did drag on a tad bit, but it kept my attention, which is more then most movies can say.

Except you have no "I didn't see it option" for those who might be hopeful/not so hopeful.

They were trying to get the Scarecrow to implant the idea in his own inner most secret place the idea that he should dissolve his company. I did rather like the movie but to each his own. It did drag on a bit too long but I really enjoyed just how open ended the ending was (I laughed when everyone in the theater started groaning).

O_O I know I'm not really the only one, but there still aren't very many, then.

Even though I rather enjoyed the film itself, I have to agree with this, because the film isn't terribly clear on points like that. Or the character's names for that matter, because I had to WIkipedia the film to know their names and by then I'd watched it and the excitement had died down.

You see, I can't quite decide my opinion on Inception. Was it good? Bad? I don't really know. After viewing it, I walked out with a kind of "eh" feeling. I guess I can at least say it isn't as mindblowingly orgasmic as everyone around school says.

The effects, the concept, the direction, the fact that you actually have to keep track of events within the movie, and one of the most mind-blowing action sequences in the history of cinema(Van rolling down the hill) makes this movie one of the best of the past decade. Plus it has Leo....sweet sweet Leo.

I refuse to see it. The marketing campaign was so blown-out and pompous.
Wait what? please explain this. How was the marketing campaign different then any other film?

A rather weak ending designed for people to speculate about, or a statement about the whole nature of our perception of reality? It's up for debate. I'm going to say... both.

I agree that the film went on a bit, but it's not as though I found it hard to grasp. As long as you don't go out near the beginning, you ought to be fine understanding the various little touches and callbacks throughout.

It was very good possibly great. I was slightly dissapointed myself but that's just because of the inflated expectations I had for the film.

I went it expecting something on par with Blade Runner which was somewhat foolish.
