I'm not sure. I didn't really like Black Ops very much. I'll see how the next one is before I make a decision, but lately I've been kind of sick of the series. The new internet CoD elite (whatever it's called) thing seems very...iffy. But, mostly, I'm tired of the buying the FPS equivalent of Madden every year.

I liked CoD4, but since then, I feel the MP has gotten progressively worse, the story modes havebeen little nothing more than a scenery change between games (till Blops introduced the horrible vehicle sections). Unless something radical comes out after MW3; I doubt Activision will be getting any more of my money. If I play it, it won't be on my PC or Xbox and probably only for a couple of hours at a friend's.

Got to say that i am more of a Battlefield guy. I got Black Ops on the console and i don't like it that much. Graphics are great, but i think the maps give me a headache. So far, the sniper rifle seems to be useless in that game.
CoD4 was better in that regard.
Did not get MW2 so i am not sure how that is. So far i think i am done with CoD, but it is more of CSS in a warzone. The only thing missing are sprays and soundeffects like 'humiliation'. lol

I am mostly into single player experiences so, given the direction the series has turn, I am mostly done with it since CoD3. I have played the newer ones, but only after they have turned cheaper...

Unless they bother to change something about the series, I'm not going to bother playing it. I loved MW1. Kinda liked MW2. Hated everything after. All they are doing is making the games more frantic and more chaotic. They have however passed the point where it adds to the fun, and now the games are just plain bad. From what I've heard MW3 is going to be even worse. That being the case, until the series changes, I'm done with it.

Because of it's popularity and how lots of games try to mimic it, it feels like the "basic shooter". thats why I don't like it. I dont feel like it brings anything special to the FPS genre. I mean battlefield has their large scale battles with vehicles and destruction, TF2 has their cartoony over-the-top violence and tons of unlocks, but COD just seems... average. I'm not paying 60 dollars a year for games that are so similar. I understand why people like it, it's popular, secure, easy to hop into a game with friends, and so on, but I just look for more in my games.

Well I have been saying this sort of thing for a long time. There are games out there 10x better than COD. Just to name 2, Wolfenstein Enemy Territory, and Enemy Territory Quake wars. IMO 2 of the best multiplayer games of the decade closely followed by Team Fortress 2.

However people want crap games, pay for crap games and the big companies are more than happy to provide the crap games. Its called voting with your wallet, perhaps people could start doing that and stop rewarding companies for creating shit games, year after year.

I was done with COD since World at War.
I've never cared much for the series since.

The only things stoppin me from playing cod is lag. Since the majority of my friends are switching to MW3 ill probably get it also. However i do have some hope for MW3 seeing as how infinity ward is taking out some of the nooby stuff. Cant really pick between battlefeild and cod, what they do best fixes the others issues, is really fucking annoying. We need a hybrid of the good stuff.

Enough people like Call of Duty to pay for new games, if you don't like them play something else. I myself never cared for the series but I don't like shooters for the most part, I'm just tired of this one game getting some much crap just because it can't live up to everyone's standards.

Ah, whatever, not everyone keeps running into these topics.

My response? Men play ARMA II.
I am gonna have to go ahead and say, "Ditto," here. I never bothered with the COD franchise because I was already into real wargames. I played the first Modern Warfare and said, "Meh." After that, I went back to ArmA II and am anxiously awaiting the release of ArmA III.

Every year I say I won't buy the new cod, but in the end I usually end up getting it because then I can play with all my friends. I keep hoping each year it will get slightly better, but am usually disappointed. So I probably will end up getting MW3 since I have money to spend considering the military is paying for my schooling and housing expenses.

Eh, like I said before, I don't know if I'm done. If I hear good things about MW3, I'll buy it. If I don't, I won't.
