... all since 2002. As far as I can see, EA has milked Battlefield just as hard as Activision has milked Call Of Duty. After all, didn't Ea release a Battlefield game last year? And aren't they releasing another one this year? How is that any different to what Activision is doing with Call Of Duty?
Whops accidentally clicked report, sorry there buddy <.<

What I was going to comment was: While yes they both have new games out yearly BF atleast tries to change it up somehow, what´s new in CoD MW3 that wasn't in CoD MW 2 or 1?

I don't like the series, I only got COD4 since it came free with my older GPU. I tried MW2 on PS3 at a friends house and I just put the controller down after 5 minutes and changed the disk. I am not only tired of COD MW series, but from modern war shooters in general. Haven't bought one since BFBC2 which I got from a steam sale.

I love Modern Warfare (which you might recall as COD4). I like Modern Warfare 2 a lot... Spec Ops has kept me going after all this time playing with my brothers. And Modern Warfare 3 seems to be bringing that back so I think I will be done after Modern Warfare 3. After that unless we have a World War 3 we will run out of plausible conflicts to keep the franchise going strong. That and the fact that although they are fun... They are not as fun (both Battlefield and COD) they're just two options in a market full of them. Don't buy, don't complain.
Don't buy (they will stop making them when no-one buys the game)
Don't complain (bitching about these games only makes them more popular)

I might end up buying MW3 if it's on a Steam sale, because I don't currently own any Call of Duty games on PC. But buying them every year? Fuck that.

Because none of what you said is actually true if you actually play the games. They all play very differently and its not just the perks, guns and killstreaks. Although changing those can massivly change how the game plays. Hell anybody who actually listened to the complaints of the fans would realise that.

I play the game because it is fun. End of story, no fucking argument out there can beat that.

I'd say it depends on what comes of MW3. To be honest, I didn't like the campaign of Blops all that much,
Hey that campaign did have one good mission which was when you broke out of the prison.
Actually thats true, I'll give you that, the prison break out/riot/revolution was pretty awesome and well scripted. I just hated that it ended with yet *another* single-handed heli takedown, man I am getting sick of those appearing in so many freaking games. Since MGS on PS1, and like, probably dozens before it too.

I did get quite a kick out of spec ops as well, just wish I could've co-oped it on LAN with a friend or something, but because of my horrendous connection I never got around to it. Man I miss easy LAN lobby setups.

I am offended by that statement! It's not my fault if you cant figure out how to use a shotgun!
I am well-versed in shotgun usage. It doesn't really matter if I shoot you in the face with a shotgun, you have invulnerability during your knife lunge. I have a clip of me shooting some guy IN THE HEAD from about 6 feet away with the Spas-12, and I got a hit marker because he had began his stretch armstrong lunge.

I'm definitely interested in MW3 because:

-Dedicated servers
-No second chance/last stand
-The melee is fixed
-Knowing IW, shotguns will hopefully fun to play with

I still enjoy CoD. They haven't changed much over the last few iterations, but they are still very good games that I personally enjoy.

Not me. I'm getting MW3 for free.

I was going to take a year off from the series for once.

But then someone offered to buy it for me.

I've been done since MW2, mainly because I've only ever played the games for the single player. The multiplayer never caught on for me.
But I know a ton of people who aren't "gamers" who are really excited for MW3. My brother, for instance, knows he's going to be getting just about the same game for his purchase, and doesn't care. To him, COD is just a fun way to waste an hour or two with his buds.
And I can't make fun of him much for that, since I still play Halo's multiplayer like crazy, and that series hasn't exactly evolved much either, has it?
