Only for smartphone gaming? That seems like a hefty price for relatively limited and very repetitive gaming options. I don't think you'll find many people who would buy an iPhone or Android or whatever over better portable gaming options without using it as an actual phone or with all of its other features.

So no.

Nope, along with a lot of people I got it for to be able to surf the web. There really isn't any good games on it anyways, most are the stereotypical casual games. I can't see myself gaming on it anyways, since a bigger screen and buttons are very useful.

For games exclusively? No. Because it does games competently and also provides all sorts of apps, like an e-reader and an mp3 player, and gets them all down to a single device that fits in my pocket? You'd better believe it. I even picked a model with a physical keyboard, since pretty much all emulators and a fair few games will let you map in game buttons to it. The thing's not even activated, it's a pre-paid model I got on sale for $50 and just use for games and apps.

But seriously, smartphone gaming is a novelty to me. I like having an Android phone (GS4) for games and stuff as well as communication, but....

No. I really only play games on my phone when waiting in line or on a bus or something along those lines.

No. I don't think anybody buys a smart phone only for gaming. After all, you're limited to touch games unless you bring some kind of controller with you and if you're willing to do that you might as well bring a separate device with better selection of games on (not that all smart phone games are bad). Unless its an Xperia Play which has a slide out game pad. I'd totally buy an updated version of one of those. I bought my phone for smart phone things. I use it for organization, web browsing, videos, email, viewing documents and basically anything I can use my laptop for. I do play emulated games on but my selection is limited to genres that can be done with on screen controls. Classic RPG's work really well and shooters/bullet hell games work surprisingly well too cause all you really do is move and shoot.

Of course, people can and do play games on their Smartphone, but when you went into, say, a Verizon store, you weren't picking Smartphones based on things like "Graphics", "CPU's", "GPU's", and other things we take into consideration when buying Consoles/PCs
Uh, I do. A lot of people buy phones based on what specs they have. Its the same as buying a pc, some people don't care and want a phone other reasons but a lot of people want the most updated specs. The mobile market moves the same as the pc market. The clock speeds, number of cores, and ram used in phones increases pretty consistently every year and with that comes games and apps that utilize the hardware. Like I said I don't think a lot of people buy phones to replace their handhelds but since most people have their phones with them all the time, they make more convenient gaming devices. Being a man, its not socially acceptable for me to carry a purse around so I'm limited to my pockets and don't really have room for a vita or 3ds so I do think about gaming when I buy a device, its just not the only reason I'll buy a smart phone

I never use my phone for gaming. I usually only use it when my computer is down and I feel like posting.

Like now... T_T

Haha, nope. Not unless I was gonna use it to tether or something for an online game on a machine actually suited for gaming. But hey, whatever floats your boat. Can't stand mobile or touchscreen games myself.

No, I bought it for the range of features that it offers. Many smart phones are horrendously expensive (compared to handheld consoles) just to use for gaming.

While it's cool to be able to play games there's definitely elements, perhaps more to do with the 'app culture' than any hardware specifications, that prevent it from being a 'great' gaming platform.
