I played the original Fallout and it's not that it was a bad game it just didn't really appeal to me too much.

I've played Fallout 2 and Brotherhood of Steel before 3. All of them wildly different from each other, but each fun in their own right.

I tried Fallout 1 for a few minutes before getting bored and deciding to do something else.

No, I've played every Fallout game. I didn't like Fallout 2 as much, mostly because I had to download a fucking character editor just to get anywhere. I loved the first one though.

I played Fallout (1) and thought it was....ok. Not perfect or grand but a solid RPG none-the-less (it got the job done of filling up my time).

Fallout 3 was also ok, not quite the epic masterpiece that some people have fanatically claimed it was but not as bad as the cursed, buggy idol of despair that was Oblivion.

Both were much of a muchness, golden relics from the halls of Valhalla, handed to you by Odin himself if that was your kind of thing or blasphamies from the sulphurous pit of Satan's behind if you're not really an RPG person.

I played Fallout 1 and thought it was pretty bad. I died to a rat when I was shooting it with my pistol.

Missed every shot but 1. Rat hit me 8 times.

I played the old ones before number 3 came out.
I love them and consider them better than number 3.

I played Fallout 1. I couldn't understand what was going on and quit after about 10 minutes. I know I should have given it more time but I wasn't really a big fan. Of course, I wouldn't mind sitting down and learning about the game and being able to play it.
Why does it seem most people couldn't figure out how to use a basic RPG system?

You press an end-combat button to stop with the turn-based once you've killed everything that's angry at you, you have to optimise your character to be better at fighting, talking, etc...

I don't see how it's so confusing, honestly.

Since my pc is too damn slow and old to run Fallout 3, I got my hands into a Fallout 2 game and been playing that ever since... It's not the same, but it works like a placebo :D

played both fallout 1 and 2 LOOOOOONNNNNNGGG before fallout 3 was even announced (well, after interplay announced the cancellation of van buren, but before the bethesda one was even announced). they were enjoyable but i just never really got that into them. i do think that overall they are better than fallout 3. fallout 3 is easy to pick up and get into whereas 1 and 2 arent, but it lacked a lot of the depth and character (for lack of a better word) that the first two had.

Yes and I liked them. They were fun, engaging, varying and with a multiplicity of choices all through the games. And stats actually mattered, as did skill choices. No arbitary level caps (at least one you could achieve in any sane amount of time) and main stories on both 1 and 2 were great works of fiction, on par with several actual books. I actually remember thinking that having played Planescape:Torment after FO 2 (both a long time ago), the Planescape while excellent was still lacking that something to achieve the same level as FO 2.

Also, Fallout 3 was a bit of a disappointment.

And Fallout Tactics:Brotherhood Of Steel from 2001 never happened. It was just a nightmare. Such a game might exist, but it is not a Fallout game. The Fallout name and brand on the game are just clever marketing tricks. I will defend this delusion of mine to the death. Are we clear on that? Good.

I never knew the Fallout series existed until number 3 turned up! Its the same with Morrowind and Oblivion too. I can't really go back and play the prequels now I've done the latest ones :p

I've only played 3, I'll admit to it, although some people think it's a cardinal sin. I loved Fallout 3, and after looking at screens of 1, 2 and tactics, I don't really have any interest in getting them, even off steam.
nothing wrong with this in my mind, even though i'm what you may consider a "hardcore" fan of one and two, totally different type of game. i can easily see lots of people liking one or the other but not both

Didn't even know they existed until 3 came out. And I have no desire to play them; the third is incredible as a stand alone in my head.

I've played all of the games (Fallout 1,2, and 3) and beat them all, played them in order to, but I didn't like how Fallout 3 was laid out, unlike the first two there isn't any real cities to explore every things in ruins but the one or two building they want you to explore and every one wants to kill you, you can't even try to talk your way out of most fights. Fallout 3 also had a lot of invisable walls for the type of game it was and to me it didn't flow quite as well as the first two, but thats just my two cents.
