Really loved it, but I have trouble navigating characters in relation to a mouse, so I switched to controller quickly.
I also bought the soundtrack, well worth it.

Woot, I'm the only one who hasn't heard of it. Well, that's rather unfair, I've seen it on steam's store a whole bunch, but I don't know anything about it.

I take it that if I see it in the bargain bin I should pick it up, yes?

Definitely. Hell it's <£6 right now on Steam and that's at full price. You'll probably catch it reduced again before the summer sale's over.

Chalk up another "loved it" vote. Gameplay was good enough, but it was the art-style, soundtrack and narration/story that made it something a little more special.

I didn't like the gameplay much, almost had to force myself to finish it... I did enjoy the visuals, music, story and the narration a lot though.

I thought the combat was adequate, but like you say, it's not the selling point.

Bastion is one of those games that I bought, have downloaded, and can play at any time, but I have yet to even think about launching the installation EXE. Half of it is probably because I simply can't get over my prejudice of the narrator never being able to shut up (Seriously! I don't need some guy constantly talking to me when I play video games!) and the other half was that I had more games which personally interested me at the time of purchase. I'll probably get to it eventually though.

Really great game. Only complaint was shortness but that was incredibly forgivable at that price and far more forgivable than being too long.
