Poll: Who here prefers Video Games to Sex?

Ok.

I grew up with the common alienation that comes with being "the kind of guy who plays games" so sex was, at least in practical term, a strange mystery to me until relatively late. I was envious of people having it, an impression increased by the depiction of sex in the common media as this kind of holy grail that everyone is always striving for all the time.

But you know what? I'v been having a whole bunch of sex for a while now. (woo! Go me!) And really, honestly...it ain't as fun as a lot of games.

I reckon peoples reactions are gonna vary from "Well, duh" to "Begone you heathen!!!" to a rather patronising "You evidently haven't had sex enough/with the right people/in the right way". Some caveats to prevent the third: I have had sex with a variety of people, in a variety of ways and i'm pretty sure i'v had what is (or pretty close to at any rate) the best sex i'm ever going to have.

I was merely curious as to where the average intelligent gamer stood, thoughts?

The two experiences are too different to directly compare. I'd be hard pressed to give either of them up on a permanent basis, although I do have enough control to abstain from either or both for significant periods of time.

If I had to give up one of the two it would definitely be games. I'd be sorry to see them go, but it would hardly be a tough decision. (Besides, I could get back to them when I get old and my dangly bits stop working.)

Call me crazy, but shooting Russian #775939 or demonstrating my statistical superiority to Orc #295744 really just can't compete to lovingly fulfilling one of the most powerful hardwired biological urges I possess.

There are other hobbies out there, but there's only one way to scratch the ultimate itch.

It depends on what I'm in the mood for. When I'm really horny, sex seems to take priority over everything. When I'm not particularly horny, I far prefer gaming.

Unlike Zhukov, if I had to give up one forever, I'd likely choose sex. I'm not getting any younger, and I have a hard time imagining sex continuing to improve as the years go by, whereas my enjoyment of gaming remains relatively unchanged from when I was young. However, given my druthers, I would give up neither.

It really depends on the mood and whatnot. At any given moment I'd probably pick sex over gaming, but I can do a gaming binge for hours and hours on end. I can't really do that with sex... I don't think my body could take it XP

Luckily I will never have to choose between the two. Unless somewhere down the line a lover tells me I can't play video games anymore, then I would have to choose.

Truth is most nights I would PREFER to play video games. That is because my heart was broken and I am no longer in love. When I was in love, video games became an activity in which my love and I could enjoy together, sometimes before OR after sex. I doubt I could come up with anything better than being in love.

Casual sex however, with someone you are not in love with...well I would say I prefer video games. That does not mean I don't enjoy sex, I just enjoy video games over sex. Which makes sense because I spend most nights playing games, instead of chasing down someone to fuck. For me, making love to that person I have given my heart to does not compare to sex with that person I just met at the club.

Sex involes another person, and I am not really comfertable around people. Video games I can enjoy by myself. Also being in love was a lot more than just having sex. I guess I just feel there are different kinds of sex.

Tell me you don't need that diamond ring?

I have to go with games. As amazing as sex is games is something I don't need to be two to do. It's easier to turn on a game than a woman. When you do a speed run in a game you're a hero, when you do that in sex you're apologizing.

Honestly though, they are very different and can't really be compared.

The fact that games are almost tied with sex is frankly baffling. Human interaction > video games, end of story. Games are a great entertainment, but the idea of holding a woman is far more tantalizing than holding a controller.
