I'm still pretty bitter about the lack of promised features in Online...cough, cough... heists. It just seems so poorly handled by Rockstar. However, it's GTA so no one cared that they didn't deliver as promised because they got their precious GTA again.

Yes, I noticed that too: so many people just blasting each other in freemode. It's one of the reasons my wife stopped playing for a while. It seemed to calm down by the time we went back to it, at least on psn. Xbl might still be full of greifers but on psn at this point, I'd say that only about 40-50% of my random freemode interactions end in violence...well, PvP violence.
But that's the main reason it's good to have a couple of crews: you can be more selective about who you play with.

Wake me up when it come to PC, is my answer to this poll and to R*.

I swear if I meet a R* or Take Two executive, I'm going to punch them in the dick/ovaries...
I know, I can't believe I overlooked that as a poll option. Sorry. But that's why I put 'Bacon' in every poll: because there's always an option I regret overlooking. They really do need to at least announce that they're working on a PC version. We all know its coming...eventually.

The only key issues now which I could see being a barrier to re-entry is a lack of new PvE content (Lots of great user created PvP content, if that's your bag though) and the occasional lobby which is populated entirely by sociopaths (With emphasis on occasional, I think I've encountered one since returning).
I'm with you 100%. I was hoping that the first game type added to the Creator was Survival. It would be cool to make co-op missions but that would take a bit longer I think.
I have to say, I like finding that occasional lobby that is in complete and utter chaos. But I usually make a run for my apt and watch the craziness unfold on the tv rather than jumping into it. Sometimes, if someone is really OPing everyone, I'll start sending mercs & muggers on him.

I'd play more if I had more people to play with but honestly, it seems like people have left because there isn't much to do.

I still play pretty regularly, it's got "one more level" addiction factor, and I don't mind the bit of repetition, especially since it's been broken up by periodic new content and news of more on the horizon. They've steadily improved it, I love that we can host our own contact missions now from the menu instead of crossing our fingers to get the good ones, and it's a lot of fun executing the higher end ones on hard difficulty flawlessly and banking.

It's now confirmed that we'll be able to buy multiple properties soon too. I'm on the PS3, and my original group has fallen apart a bit as people stopped playing, so I'll accept that invite, hope to run some heists with you guys in the upcoming spring update!

I tried playing the first month of brokenness, got my half a million, bought a swank apartment, and said I'd come back to try out heists. I'm still waiting.

I've got back into it lately myself, mainly as I started playing the single player again. I don't stay on for too long, maybe an hour at most, and I mostly stick to races. Last mission with randoms involved one guy killing everyone so he could try and solo the mission. Needless to say, he failed.

I still play it from time to time and its a great game for co-op, it has tons of missions and while for the first 30 levels they are somewhat mundane (its almost like playing GTA 3) they do get better after that.

Also, the missions can be completed in so many ways, with randoms its usually everyone for himself with the typical strategy of going through the front door but if you take your time with an organised group you can be very creative.

Never really did much of the competetive stuff, as with GTA IV it isnt really all that balanced for that kind of multiplayer. In the free roam I usually just stay out of trouble.

The racing is also fun but with randoms it can be somewhat shitty as with friends even if one of you rams someone out of the road you can still have a laugh.

I was going to try it after finishing the narrative of GTAV but the problem is how I just couldn't get through GTAV...my internet is crap too so I'm just saving myself the hassle of waiting to connect only to be kicked off of the servers within the first five minutes. GTAOnline just isn't for me and I'm kind of surprised it wasn't its own stand-alone release.

I haven't played it at all this year, but that's as much down to work as it is a general "can't be a**ed" about the game.

I think I'll start playing again once the updates/content come out.

I have a friend who hasn't played for about 6 months; this exact words, "Once I got the tank and my KDR hit 3, I stopped" - may not be a valid reason, but hey-ho.

I might try it again when heists are introduced, as those were the most fun part of the single player. Really, they should have been in Online from the beginning.
I didnt like it for exactly the same reason. Im all for a bit of dicking about and funny greifing but killing you with a tank (because R* sold out and went with a pay to win formula) when you barely have 5 rounds for a pistol is just unfair. I got picked up by a guy in a cargobob and dropped to my death. I couldnt stop laughing because it was an original and funny grief but people spawn killing noobs is just boring.

I played about 5-10 times and I came across only 1 co-operative person. It was so much fun compared to mindless killing. I think we went on a robbing spree and robbed most of the liqour stores. One would hold up and the other would wait outside for police and then getaway and spilt the cash 50/50

Another thing I came across was that you need to level up to get any decent missions/items. I know it adds longevity but ive completed the campaign and stole a titan on SP then I go on MP and im basically doing deathmatches and fetch quests. Its a bit of an anti-climax. I was expecting big co-op set-piece heists where each player has a different role (ala single player)

I preferred GTA IV's online modes more anyways. I had fun just screwing around in the open world environment, and if need be I could've EASILY switched over to genuinely FUN modes, like cops n' crooks. No aggravating "levelling" or other nonsense.
I agree GTA IVs multiplayer was fun because it was designed for people to just kill one another and grief etc where as GTA V forces you to grind before you get anything decent and when people keep killing/griefing you while you're doing that it makes it even more tedious and longer.

While I don't have the biggest stake in anything GTA related, I must say the numbers of people who either no longer or never ever played the online is surprising...

and the ways you can make a decent 10kish profit is insanely fucking stupid.
You're doing it wrong then

Rooftop Rumble set to Hard, 18.75K profit for a mission that can be completed in 2 maybe 3 minutes and with a decent teammate or a group of more than 2 people can be done at very little cost in ammo and with little real risk of failure.

I too was a member of the Rockstar made it way to hard to make decent money quickly in this game when they tweaked the rewards for doing races. Turns out it is very easy to make quick cash in this game you just have try different missions types.

Yeah I still play it, despite the games numerous WTF issues. I can spend a good few hours just trolling free roam in my Buzzard or doing Random Missions.

Oh, you didn't put in an option for 'didn't buy it in the first place'.

I was very keen on getting it when it first came out, but after hearing about a susbstantially large number of griefers and a terrible community I was massively put off. I didn't get it just for the main game either because I felt scorned badly by GTAIV. And there's no playable female characters.

I may try to get into it when Heists are implemented, but whenever I try it I just don't like it. It's either too empty or full of people try to kill you for no reason.

That part of it has calmed down a bit. There's usually a street battle going on when I get on but they stick around one area and wont go trying to bait others in, and unless you try and roll into a knifefight with a tank, they wont kick you for joining in either. I still get people rolling up and trying to blast me but it doesn't happen every time I'm in a public lobby like in the first few months.
Freeroam is a lot more organic now. Like how I found out about the gate glitch (it sends your car flying, sometimes halfway across the map and/or way up into the sky): I was watching people play on the in game tv and saw a group doing this glitch. I drove up to the spot and joined in.

Funny, I expected the 'got it for SP' to be higher. It is primarily an SP series.
