In all seriousness though, Cloud is the better character...hell at least he HAD character to him for more of the game than Squall who is just an annoying douche.

Listen to what I am saying, Locke Cole, there is NO other character better than him in the FF franchise. Not even Master Chief could beat im, because one cast from Ultima and that walking suit of armor is as good as dead. If you don't know who Lock Cole is, go find out or go die >DRUNK_CANADIAN said:

I'd go for Cloud on who's cooler, but I'd be more inclined to entrust Squall with my life, he has the ability to use limit breaks repeatedly after all.
What do I think? I think it's great you have joined the Escapist. For your information however, the moderators here don't like versus threads as they don't usually lead to interesting discussions and often degenerate into flamewars. Don't feel bad though; my first thread was a 'top 5' list, and the mods don't like them either.[TW said:
Now, as for my favorite Final Fantasy character, I'm going to go way off on a limb and say Yuna. While the 'ha ha ha' scene may be one of the worst scenes in a videogame, I was really moved by the strength her character showed as the game went on.

On-Topic: Cloud. He's at least somewhat likeable. Squall was my least liked FF character until I played FF10.
But my real vote would go to Zidane, he got more character development in the first two discs of FF9 than both Cloud or Squall got in their games.
